"Hey"
"So I was wondering if maybe you wanted to grab a drink at Joe's?"
" Sure just give me 10 minutes to get changed and I'll meet you over there"
" Okay, great do you want a beer?"
"Yeah, thanks"
"And she made her way across to Joe's looking forward to spending the evening with him

"No, see you can't do that" Meredith said to Derek.
"Do what?"
"Not look happy after sex its bad for the ego"
"I am happy I just." he trailed off afraid to go any further
"What is it?" she asked getting slightly worried
" That day, you came out of the water I spent the scariest hours of my life trying to breathe for you and… you gave up you didn't swim. I love you and I want you I just do know if I can keep breathing for you"
" I was swimming, I was fighting…." He sat up in bed and looked at her intently
She inhaled knowing that she would have to continue
"It's just that day my mother was lucid she, she called me ordinary, she told me she had raised me to be an extraordinary person but I had turned out ordinary" She broke off sobbing almost uncontrollably by now.
" I was a disappointment to her and I was afraid that I would be a disappointment to you to and that you would leave me and that scared me more than anything Derek. I have never been as scared in my whole life when I thought about you leaving me"
He pulled her in to arms and started rubbing small circle on her lower back " Meredith I love you more than I ever thought it was possible to love a human being, I will never ever leave you but I need you to tell me things like this, communicate you can't live life keeping this bottled up inside of you"
"Okay, I'll try and communicate, I love you" and they fell asleep in each others arms.
