She sat, on a bench in the gardens surrounding her family home, enjoying the peace offered by the still night. She had missed this place, during her stint in the army. Still, in the end it had been worth it; China had been saved, and she had learned quite a bit while she was saving it.
"Mulan"
She was so wrapped in the silence that the quiet voice coming out of the darkness startled her. Shang moved into view and seated himself next to her. They chatted quietly for a few minutes about inconsequentials, and their camaraderie was evident. As they chatted, the temperature dropped and the wind picked up.
"Are you cold?" Shang asked, interrupting his sentence about how nice dinner had been. "Do you want my cloak?"
Mulan rebuffed his offer with a glare. "You wouldn't ask any of the others that." She accused.
"They're men and you're... well, you're not." Shane responded, trying to defend himself without causing further offense. Mulan couldn't be sure, but she though he was blushing.
"I don't want to be treated any differently. Haven't I proved myself?"
Crickets answered her words.
"Shang-"
The rest of her sentence was lost as Shang leaned over and kissed her. As she was swept away by passion, one though remained: maybe being treated like a girl wasn't so bad after all.
I was bored in class... and had just watched Mulan for the first time in a long time the night before... so this happened. Enjoy, and please review! It's not hard, and it's really encouraging and helpful.
