The First and Last Voyage of the U.S.S. Hope

"Get the shields up." Captain Tarsay barked. The ship had just encountered an unknown vessel during a training exercise in the Sytor system.
"Shields are up." An ensign called to the Captain. His name was David Marcu. Marcu graduated top of his class at Starfleet Academy, and served for three years aboard the USS Arizona, until he was promoted to the rank of ensign.
The ship charged power from an unknown source and fired its beam weapon. The beam weapon had the same energy output as a Borg cube. The shields of the USS Hope held back the weapon for a microsecond, until they gave out.
"Somebody tell me our status," Tarsay yelled.
"Our shields are down and we are taking a beating." Ensign Marcu responded.
The ship lurched as if in agreement. What are we going to do? Tarsay asked himself. Captain Bill Tarsay was a first officer aboard numerous Federation vessels, until he single-handedly defeated a group of Cardassian mercenaries to ensure the survival of refugees. He was promoted the next day.
A console erupted a meter from Captain Tarsay, injuring Ensign Marcu who was operating it.
"Somebody get a medic!" Tarsay called, but nobody could hear him over the explosions that devastated the ship.
The captain's communicator beeped. "Captain," the chief engineer said urgently, "a warp core breach is imminent."
"Eject the core. And get out of engineering!"
What else could go wrong? Tarsay thought.
Suddenly, the beam weapon ceased fire. "What happened?" Tarsay asked.
"The ship has stopped firing." The tactical officer reported.
"Hail them."
"No response, Captain."
Captain Tarsay looked at the ship on the viewscreen. The ship was saucer-shaped with the beam emitter coming out of the front of the ship. It had a silver color. It was 50 meters high and 250 meters long.
The captain looked from the viewscreen to the bridge. The Ops and Conn stations were on fire. Debris was everywhere, and he saw his first officer lying on the ground. The chief medical officer was scanning him with a tricorder. He frowned at the readings, and moved to the next injured crewman.
The ship was doomed and Tarsay knew it. Starfleet regulations strongly encouraged captains to not allow Federation technology to be captured by alien species. I hope I don't regret this. Tarsay thought.
"Computer, Initiate the self-destruct sequence."
Before he could authorize the self-destruct sequence, Tarsay's ship was transported thousands of light-years away by the alien ship.
"Where are we?" Tarsay asked. He activated the viewscreen. He saw with horror that his ship was headed straight for a black hole. With the Structural Integrity Field down, the ship would be torn apart by the black hole's tidal forces. The ship came closer to the black hole.
"Computer, activate warp drive."
"The warp core has been ejected." The computer voice responded.
"Computer," the captain said, "Send a distress beacon."
"Distress beacon sent." The computer voice said.
So much for my Starfleet hopes and dreams.
The SIF failed and the USS Hope was torn apart. All 217 crew members perished.
