Foaly turned around from his computer terminal with a sigh.
"I just checked the database on FanFiction," he told Holly and Artemis, who had just entered the room. "There are practically no correctly made FanFiction stories on there. We need an idea."
Holly tilted her head, thinking. "Maybe we should make some kind of society, you know, to fix it up."
Artemis nodded. "That's a good idea. We need a name for it, though."
Foaly brightened. "We should take the name of a character that is seen a lot in the book series, but is often forgotten in the FanFictions," he suggested. "For example, The Foaly Lover Group!"
Artemis rolled his eyes. "What about the Julius Root Foundation?" he asked. "'Foundation' sounds better than 'Club' or 'Society'."
Holly wiped a secret tear from her eye, just as Mulch barged in.
"Whazzup?" he asked, trying to act cool, but failing miserably.
They explained. Mulch considered, chewing a handy carrot.
"Not a bad idea."
"Great! So what should be our first act of awesomeness?" Foaly asked.
"Well, we can't do anything to change the bad stories at this point," Artemis said. "But we can do something to reward the good authors."
"Yes! We can have awards." Mulch said, getting interested in the idea. "The good authors will be rewarded with the finest- jewellery, gold, expensive wings. And the bad authors will be executed!" He smiled happily.
"Well, Mulch," Holly said uncertainly. "That sounds rather... illegal..."
"The reward part is probably out of the budget," Artemis pointed out.
"Fine." Mulch scowled. "But we have to reward them with something!"
"Bragging rights?" Foaly suggested. No one challenged him, as he was a master of it.
"The winners get to kill the bad authors!" Mulch grinned.
"No! No bad authors and no death!" Holly said in frustration.
"Ninja powers!" Foaly supplied.
"Yes. We will give ninja powers to the winners." Artemis said dryly.
"Well, it's all we have for now," Holly replied.
"Okay. So bragging rights and... Ninja powers..." Artemis finished uncertainly.
"You fairies are all insane," Foaly shook his head and returned to the computer.
"At least we aren't evil criminal geniuses who try to…" began Holly, but was interrupted by an evil glare from Artemis.
"Okay. So we'll write a story that will ask readers to nominate and vote for their favourite stories, and award the winners?" Mulch summarized.
"Exactly," Foaly nodded, looking over his shoulder. "I'm transcribing it right now."
This is that story. Recorded by Holly, Mulch, Artemis, Foaly, and I(Who was listening on my bugs), this fic is dedicated to the Artemis Fowl Archive's good authors. There are plenty of them here, it's just that a lot of them are hiding behind clichés and the fact that, well, a lot of us here just don't know what a good fic is. Hopefully the JRF will help take the archive to a new level of greatness.
The reader's assignment is to nominate stories through PMs or reviews to the JRF, and to vote on polls that will be posted on the admins' profiles.
