Honesty

"One more loss

In a losing life,

Doesn't hurt so bad,

Anymore"

Maybe they could have been friends.

She'd rather not, though. She was rather satisfied with her life of cleaning dishes in the back of a restaurant.

The sarcasm would definitely fly over your head if you didn't know her. When they were in middle school, she had tried to talk to him, but he hated her. She sort of developed a fear of him from there on out. But still, in a small town such as this you really didn't forget the faces of the people you went to school with.

She didn't know, however, that he had tried to talk to her.

He just never got to phase one: actually doing it. He had talked himself out of it with the deluded belief that she wouldn't be interested.

How wrong he was.
