FIGHTING MEMORIES

AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER

So this was sparked by the ep of VD in which Silas tried to lure Bonnie in with her Grams which got me to thinking that he could probably make anyone see anything he wanted and made me curious as to what else he could do. Related to "Snoop Revelations", "I'm Sorry", and "Unforgiven" but it's not necessary to read them. This is just a one-shot and will be no further chapters. I don't know whether or not Jeremy's going to stay dead but for this fic he is sad to say. Takes place a little after they arrived on the island. Belongs to L.J. Smith and the CW. I only own the memories.

Stefan was silent as he looked at the rest of the group. After learning from Elena that Katherine was on the island, Stefan had been silent. The truth was, he wasn't even sure why she had come though he was pretty sure she didn't even care about the cure even though she had pretty much sacrificed Jeremy to Silas, something he knew Elena would never forgive her for. Not that he could forgive her for it either. But at least the cure hadn't been taken yet and they all had a chance to get.

"Stefan?" he suddenly heard a voice call out and stumbled. Wha-it couldn't be! "Stefan!" the voice came again, sharper.

"No," he said softly, causing the others to look at him in concern.

"Stefan, what's wrong?" Elena queried.

"Nothing. I just thought I heard something that's impossible for me to hear," Stefan replied and then continued on his way.

"You're going to walk away from me, boy?" the voice demanded and Stefan's breathing hitched as the image of Giuseppe Salvatore materialized in front.

"Stefan?" Rebekah asked as the younger vampire paused.

"You're not real! You're dead!" he shouted thickly. No, no, no, no, no, no, no! This can't be happening, he thought to himself.

"Who?" Elena wondered.

"It's Silas. He's making Stefan see something," Bonnie realized.

"Brother?" Damon asked in concern. What was he seeing?

"I know you told, Boy. Did you forget our deal?" Giuseppe asked.

"You're dead. And I never told," Stefan responded. Instantly, Damon froze.

"Brother, it's Silas. It's not him," he said, blurring so that he was in front of him. Come on, Stefan. Snap out of it, he thought to himself.

"I didn't tell. I didn't tell," the younger Salvatore said as if he hadn't heard him, which he probably didn't.

"It's not him. It's not him. He's dead, little brother," came the hurried assurance as the older vampire placed his hands on his younger brother's shoulders.

"No, no, no, no, no. Didn't tell. Didn't tell," the younger boy murmured. Then he began to fight against the older vampire.

"Stefan, stop," he said. However, his brother continued to fight. Sorry, Stef, he thought to himself. With that, he bore down and bit into Stefan's neck, resulting in a cry of surprise.

"What the hell!?" Stefan demanded, shoving his brother back.

"How do you feel?"

"You freakin' bit me! How do you think I feel?"

"You still seeing Father?"

"No." Stefan stared at Damon. "Thanks," he said softly. Then, he headed out, the others close behind.
