'Can I stay by your side forever?'
Skies turned into a dark grey shade, clouds accumulating in the sky. 'Would it rain…?' the words ran through the mind of a certain girl who stood near the large windows. Her hand on the glass, she looked through them, staring at the road's end, waiting for a certain bluenette to come back.
It wasn't long before water droplets fell from the sky, starting with a few drizzle, turning in a pour in moments. The female took a few steps back not to get soaked wet. The cracks in the windows should be patched up soon or Kokuyo is going to have an indoor flood.
The heavy rain blocked her view of the road, only seeing small shadows that didn't belong to the one she was looking for. Why was he so late today, she wondered. As she was about to get just a step closer to look out, her sight flashed white and then pitch black… Then everything turned back to normal followed by a loud crash.
A loud, high pitched yelp came from the girl and she fell back to the ground, losing her balance when trying to get away from the window. Thunder… Another loud crash made her eyes go wide and she pushed herself up, running to the only room that had a bed, jumping in and pulling the covers over head head, both her hands lifted and covering her ears.
Her small frame shook, jerking whenever thunder crashed. Again and again, the cycle continuing. With her attention on trying to get the noises out, she didn't notice the light taps against the floorboards that was washed out by the sound of rain, only noticing another person's presence when her hands were removed and his voice rang through her ears.
Right away, she tilted her head up, a lone, tear filled purple eye met with heterochromatic ones as she bit on her lip, feeling way too glad to see him here right now. Staring with a tired glance, she enjoyed the warm, soothing feeling as he led his hand through her hair, his other hand on her cheek.
His fingers traced around her cheek and she leaned in slightly, eyes drooping down and closing when his fingers traced over her eyelids as if asking for her to close them. The other cooed soothing words that calmed her down, her raspy breath turned to a more calm, even flow.
After a while, she heard him tell her to sleep, her body being lowered to a lying position. With her eyes closed, she raised her hands, taking hold of the other's hand in a gentle grasp. Not being able to see the other's expression, she took the risk and tugged lightly, tightening the hold just a little. Getting no rejection, she smiled.
Just before she could fall asleep, just before she wouldn't be able to talk anymore, she mumbled a short string of words. She wondered if he heard her, but hearing an answer back, she smiled. And as the bed creaked slightly as he lay down next to her, she still held one of his hands, shifting herself closer to his body.
"I love you…"
The four word reply that reassured her.
"I love you too."
With that, the two fell asleep, Chrome sleeping soundlessly in Mukuro's arm. The raging storm and rain outside completely ignored.
A/N: Halo. Just here to say the original plot is from my friend. Except, she wrote Mukuro's POV kinda. I really liked it so I wrote Chrome's POV for it. Hope you enjoyed it.
R&R anyone? =w=
