Minnie
During her life, she had many names some of which were given to her by others, some she worked to get and others she didn't deserve to get but she anyway.
She was Minerva to her family, friends and later co-workers. This was the first name she answered, the first name people called her, the name she shares with her great-grandmother a brilliant witch on herself. This is one of the only names given to her from others and that she likes.
It was her first name but not her favorite no her favorite came later much, much later in her life than to give to her by others like this one.
She was Miss McGonagall to her teachers when she was in school even if it was so long ago that no one even remembers some of the students she has taught over the years think she was even born old and wise and never went to school. She used to laugh with her friends when they thought the same thing about Dumbledore.
Miss McGonagall was a fine name it helps her remember where she came from, who she was and to be proud of that but not even this was her favorite.
The other names she had during her school life was more like titles than names but she liked them all the same and was proud to have them because she worked hard to get them, they were Perfect and Head Girl.
No matter how proud she was of these names or title if you want to call them, they were never her favorite and never will be able to surpass her favorite name.
Later she would become when she got married but never changed her last name to her husbands. But the change from Miss to Mrs. made everyone see that she was married and happy to be so.
But though this was not her favorite name she loved her husband with all her heart even if their marriage was short it was happy and wonderful, she just liked another name more.
When she worked for the Ministry of Magic, her name or title was Madam a name she didn't hold for long and not even close to the one, she liked the most especially with the corrupt Ministry that was at the time.
The names Professor and Head of Gryffindor were some of the most favorites she had in her life she loved it teaching and inspiring younger people it felt amazing and her lions were her everything she loved each and every one of them.
As much as they meant to her, they were not her favorite even if it went really close to that. But it was when she held those names that she got her favorite names.
Later she will have names like deputy headmistress and headmistress, they may be the highest names she will ever get but they are not the favorites one was given to her by her teacher ad hero while the other she received on his death and it cost her a very important person.
Her favorite name is a short one a name only three students have dared to call her that.
That name is Minnie is short, sweet and amazing and is the name the Marauders called her. When they used that name on her she would always yell at them or deduct points but those three never stopped doing it.
This name is also special because of the fact the traitor who cause James death, Sirius imprisonment, and Remus loneliness never called her that, and for, that she is glad the name would lose its value if that had happened.
That name has a place in her heart that no other name could achieve and always will have no matter how many years go by, no matter how many names she achieves and have this will always be her favorite.
Minnie the name the Marauders her favorite students (not that she will ever admit that) the braves, the smartest, sweetest and funniest students she ever had given her will always be her best and the only one that she is happy to achieve.
