To Tell of Your Love
To tell of your sorrow and grief would be an easy thing,
But how shall I tell of your love?
Love that gave up everything
Just to see another's smile;
Love that conquered death itself
To bring the world to peace;
How can it be put to words?
They say you can only love as much as you've hurt
But you loved deeper than even this.
Your love was blind,
But purer than even new fallen snow.
You strayed from the path you should have followed
So you hated yourself
And made up for it by loving everything else.
How can I put this love to words?
Twice you gave up everything
Only to give back so much more.
Your kindness was hidden by despair,
But came out in the end brighter than any star.
You showed that love one last time
In the hope of a world's rebirth.
The love buried deep with your tortured broken heart
Caused the sun to rise and flowers to bloom.
The love you planted in this world,
Watered with your blood,
Blossomed beautifully.
Peace was born with your sacrifice,
So how can I measure how much you loved?
This world, these people, this face?
To tell of your sorrow and grief would be an easy thing,
But how shall I tell of your love?
