First Story! AN: Hey guys just wanted to let you know I'm not going to give Zoë the old english accent just because of how much of a pain it is and also I only know the basics. Since I am a beginner and all that jazz I hope if I do something wrong I can get some feedback on it. Recommendations are also welcome! Well anyways onto the story!

Prologue

Ancient Greece, Garden of the Hesperides

Third Person POV

A small child around the age of 8 could be seen running around a field of flowers. The boy had black hair that couldn't be tamed and black volcanic rock eyes that held mirth and innocence. The little boy could be seen getting chased by a beautiful girl who had the same physical features as him. The girl began to catch up on the boy as his 8 year old legs could not move as far and fast as the 14 year old girl who dwarfed his size. The girl reached out and grabbed the bundle of energy and said,

"Perseus! You little rascal. You know father won't let us leave the garden, If you are going to play don't go near Ladon or the edge of the garden."

"But Zo-Zo! I want to go see the outside world and go on a adventure!"

The now identified Zoë Nightshade sighed and said,

"Percy I know, I want to see the outside world as well but we have a duty and if we left without fathers permission we will be deemed traitors and disowned by our sisters and father."

Percy pouted and said, "Alright, Zo-Zo lets go see our sisters and eat dinner!" And took off once again. Zoë sighed and went after Percy. Zoë was the second youngest of the six Hesperides, only second to Percy. She was closest to Percy out of all of her siblings mostly because the responsibility of taking care of Percy was dumped on to her after their mother, Pleione faded. Her sisters were too lazy to take care of him, so she has been raising him since he was four years old. She longed to have time to herself and not unlike Percy, she loved going on adventures. She was always an outcast because her sisters were nothing like her. She was energetic, but not overly so and liked challenges. Her sisters however, were lazy and always tended to the garden. She practiced archery and went hunting quite often and taught Percy the basics in hunting and how to shoot a bow properly. Her sisters always made fun of her because of this saying that learning how to fight is pointless since they can't leave the garden. (AN: Well they can leave if they want but not without serious consequences.) Zoë explained to her siblings that she can hunt for meat along with Percy while they grow vegetables. This was usually how they fed themselves.

Though Zoë liked hunting with her bow and arrows she also used a sword but mostly because it was her last item she had from her mother. The sword had a form of a hair comb in its dormant state but could be revealed as a sword upon will. It was called Anaklusmos and was a shimmering bronze xiphos with a double-edged blade that is about three feet long, a leather-wrapped grip and a flat hilt riveted with gold studs. The sword is made of celestial bronze, Forged by the Cyclopes, tempered in the heart of Mount Etna, cooled in the River Lethe. It was deadly to Monsters and Immortals alike but harmless to mortals. Percy also had a final gift from his mother that was in the form of a silver ring that had a bluish tint to it. The ring had intricate designs of waves and currents on it that could be seen only if you were looking closely. Instead of having a classic xiphos like Zoë he had a rather peculiar design. It was a katana with a blade that had a blue tint to it. The katana was primarily made of Atlantean Steel and Celestial Bronze but had veins of Stygian Iron in it. Atlantean steel can only be found in the caves of Atlantis so it is considered extremely rare. Atlantean Steel has the same properties as Celestial except if held by a child of the sea, It gives them better control over water and water can be shot from the blade. The Stygian Iron in the blade was mined and forged in the Underworld. Being cooled in the River Styx made it semi-indestructible. Stygian Iron blades are particularly dangerous because when monsters are killed their souls are absorbed into the blade instead of being sent to Tartarus. The katana had wave designs on it as well. The weapon was named Eternity or Αιωνιότητα.

Zoë began to teach Percy their water powers that they got from their mother as she already has decent control over it while Percy's powers had just started manifesting.

Time Skip: 2 years

A flash of brown could be seen moving throughout the forests of Mount Othrys. All of a sudden, a gleaming bronze arrow flew out of the woods hitting the unsuspecting rabbit through the neck, giving it a painless death. Zoë Nightshade walked into the clearing and picked up the rabbit and took off towards her home. When she got to the front of her home she could see her younger brother training once again.

Ever since Zoë started teaching Percy how to correctly wield a sword he became addicted and practiced whenever he had the chance He eventually surpassed Zoë who by no means was a bad swordsman. (AN: swordswoman?) Because of this he had to use an old automaton his father had used to train in his earlier days. The automaton was extremely skilled in swordfighting and even his father had trouble against it which was saying something.

Zoë was more proficient with the bow while Percy on the other hand excelled in swordfighting. Zoë could hit the bullseye 9/10 times and even split arrows sometimes while Percy can get 6/10. Percy and Zoë also excelled in their control over water more so than their older sisters mostly because they only use the water powers to water the flowers and such.

Percy and Zoë found out that their swords were imbued with powers of the sea, giving them the ability to shoot strong blasts of water from the sword using little energy. They also realized that they could turn water into ice but doing so would be extremely tiring. They could also make water appear out of nowhere, well that is what it looks like but in reality, they are turning the moisture in the air into water but it is somewhat taxing.

When the two of them would spar it often lasted a while because of their powers over Endurance. This gave them a advantage in fights who aren't children of Atlas. Not to mention they get immense strength which only serves to help them in fights even more. Even if they aren't going for power hits their hits still pack a punch. For Zoë this is a huge advantage. She is more of a stealth fighter so while she is lithe and agile her hits still pack a punch

Zoë and Percy had gone hunting together quite often in the past 2 years so they both knew how to skin a deer and a rabbit. They also knew how to make venison and rabbit stew. Sometimes when they caught more deers or rabbits than needed they just gave them to Ladon. Zoë had a good relationship with Ladon. In fact, she is the only Hesperide that can get near Ladon without getting brutally killed.

Zoë had begun to learn how to use hunting knives because her style of fighting worked better with two small weapons rather than one big weapon. When Zoë sparred with Percy using her knives while he used his katana she noticed that she has a easier time against him but she still lost as she is a beginner with the knives.

Percy and Zoë may not get along with their older sisters ,but they had a great relationship with their father. Atlas had always been a warrior and he was glad that Percy and Zoë followed in his footsteps unlike his other daughters. Unbeknownst to his children Zoë and Percy were his favorite. The two of them always spent time talking to him while his older daughters rarely visited.

The lives of Percy and Zoë soon became repetitive. In the morning they would wake up at 8 AM and eat breakfast, Then they would train in archery until lunch. After lunch they would train with their respective weapons until 5 PM. They would go hunting for dinner and make dinner. After dinner they would train in powers until 10:30 PM where they would go to sleep. The two of them would long to have an adventure, to see the outside world but that would mean abandoning their sisters, but more importantly their father.

Zoë's POV

I watched as I let loose two arrows to see them sprout in the neck of the deer instantly killing it. I was about to pick it up only to be interrupted by feeling someone walk into the garden. You see my siblings and I take turns watching the gardens from intruders. Aegle watches from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, Erytheia at 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Hesperia at 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, I watch at 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and lastly Percy watches at 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM.

I was hunting for deer for dinner since my shift was nearly over. When I feel a disturbance in the barrier it usually means a person is trying to get the Apples of Immortality. I hurriedly made my way to the entrance of the garden to see a large man about 6'5" wearing a old style Greek white tunic with a lion pelt draped over his back like a cape.

I walked up to the man to see him staring at me in a way I couldn't identify. Before I could say anything, he said, "Who are you pretty one?"

I blushed and said, "My name is Zoë Nightshade and I am the 5th Hesperide. I assume you are here to try to get the Apples of Immortality?"

"Try? Ha! This will be a piece of cake, I have bested thousands of monsters with my bare hands, for I am Heracles, son of Zeus and the greatest hero in the world!"

I scoffed and muttered, "Not this one, Ladon will be to strong for you to defeat with your bare hands."

"Then why don't you help me pretty one?"

"I am afraid. Afraid of what my family would do if I helped you. My sisters would disown me."

"Then there is nothing for it, I will defeat this beast with my hands. I will tear his heads off one by one, until it is dead."

"It will not work", I murmured.

Heracles then began to walk towards Ladon where I hesitated and made a split second decision.

"Wait! I will help you, but only if you take me with you."

Heracles had a surprised look on his face which quickly changed into a sly smile which confused me. He immediately agreed.

"If you must do this then take this." I pulled my hair comb out of my hair and prepared to hand it to him.

Heracles laughed, "How will this help me slay Ladon pretty one?"

"Take it and you will see, but if you insist on being stubborn you can leave."

When he took the comb from my hand I watched as it transformed into a beautiful bronze xiphos. Heracles swung the sword around, testing its weight.

"It is well-balanced", He admitted. "What is this blade called?

"Anaklusmos, The current that takes on by surprise, And before you know it, You have been swept out to sea.

Before Heracles could say anything, I heard Ladon coming towards us. I watched as Heracles ran up to Ladon jumping onto the closest head and maneuvering his way through the hundred heads. He sliced off three heads with one swipe as he ran, trying to make his way to his body. Heracles dove through dozens of heads, landing on Ladon's body. I watched as he began hacking and slashing at the necks, Cutting off dozens of heads in mere seconds. Soon there was only a big pile of golden dust at the base of the tree. Heracles walked up to the tree and took an Apple of Immortality and began making his way towards me. I walked up to him only to see him walk right pass me.

"Wait! You said you would take me with you!"

"Well I suppose I said that didn't I? But I do believe that such a statement could interpreted in many different ways. I could just take you with me... or I could simply take you." Heracles grinned lecherously and began walking towards me. Before I could scream for help, Heracles dropped like sack of potatoes.

In Heracles' place was Percy, Who had his Huntsman knife(AN: Just search up "Huntsman Knife" on google and look at the first image. Yeah I know Huntsman knives weren't made back then but they are super cool knives so sue me.) hilt pointing towards where Heracles' head was.

Percy then ran up to me and said, "Zoë! What were you thinking? Why would you help him? Our sisters would disown you!"

" I... I don't know... I guess I was just so caught up in wanting to leave..." I stammered

Percy began looking around and said, "Never mind that, We need to leave now! Before our sisters find out! And before this pompous asshat wakes up!"

We? But this is my fault, why are you coming with me?"

"Zoë, That has got to be one of the dumbest thing you have ever said. I would never leave you as long as you don't leave me. And besides I want to see the outside world too!"

I quickly got up and retrieved my sword and ran towards my room, where I grabbed a backpack and stuffed it with clothes, Nectar, Ambrosia, and my weapons. During this time I thought Percy was doing the same. Little did I know Percy had already packed up and was stabbing Heracles where Apollo don't shine
