Kurt has been fallen- he outright refuses to be referred to as "Human"- for about eight weeks before Blaine happens. When eyes meet as Kurt walks through the park, and then Blaine's eyes don't leave his, even though he should be looking at his guitar, He later informs Kurt that he doesn't have to, because he apparently has some sort of soul connection to Katy Perry and the songs just flow out of him. Kurt doesn't even know who "Katy Perry" is, but the way Blaine looks at him tells him he should, so he just pretends he does until he can ask Mercedes about it later (Kurt will later pretend that he hates the fact that California Girls will forever be his and Blaine's song.)
Hes used to people seeing him and seeing just a man- just a boy really, Quinn guessed just nineteen- but somehow Blaine had see something else, maybe a glimpse of what he used to be, something beautiful and so different from this very human body with its very human imperfections and its not even that attractive if you ask him. But Blaine hadn't asked him, and Blaine said he was perfect, it was all very irrational.
A few weeks after meeting Blaine, Kurt wakes up and realizes he doesn't know how to be anything other then an Angel, he has to learn how to be a human.
Blaine teaches him things that he never thought he would know, but then one day hes listening to rock music on the radio and he knows the words and he likes it. Blaine has changed him, thought him something new about the person he is outside the Angel, even though Blaine doesn't even know about the Angel thing yet. Kurt would have told him already, but he was afraid that Blaine would treat him differently, like Mercedes and Quinn had before he assured them ten times that he was not going to smite then or turn them into a pillar of salt it they teased him or took the lords name in vain or something like that.
Blaine teaches him that he knows nothing of the mind of mortals. He had seen every possible sin when he was still graced and he had thought he knew a lot about how humans worked. But these weeks with Blaine have thought him that he knew nothing of humans, even less then Blaine knew about Angels. Angels know nothing, so he likes this, likes this too much, he likes this the way Quinn likes Mercedes, he might love the the bubbling form of mortality that is Blaine.
He wonders that if he dies he'll go to hell.
Blaine tells Kurt every single dream he dreams at night. Kurt does not understand the awe these humans feel with dreams, even the bad ones. To Kurt dreams are terrifying. Angels never dream. Only then Kurt does dream. He dreams of what it would have been like to always be human, he dreams of still being blessed and having his wings back, and then he dreams of Blaine. He dreams of Blaine loving him, kissing him, touching him, wanting him. He has never felt a want this strong before, this want for Blaine is different then the want for food or water or sleep or to have his wings back or to be blessed once more by his father, this want its so intense that it hurts. It hurts like burning inside of him and it wont stop when he tells it too. To humans feel this much a lot? How could his father allow his chosen people, his favored to hurt this badly and do nothing to help them?
He asks Blaine what this hurt means and why he only feels it around Blaine, and its only been a week since Blaine had found out about the hole 'Angel fallen from the heavens' thing so hes a little startled by the question, but then he laughs and leans forward a little, his lips barely brush against Kurt's and the hurt is still there but far away, and Kurt can't even define it as hurt anymore, because it feels more hopeful then that.
