Catherine stood, stretching. "Thanks, Gil."
"For what?" he asked, confused.
"For having my back."
"That's what friends are for," he said, grinning.
"You're not going to break out in song are you?" Catherine replied, arching an eyebrow.
Grissom pretended to think about it. "I think you've been through enough for one day."
Laughing, Catherine leaned down and gave Grissom a kiss on the cheek.
"What was that for?" he asked, surprised, but pleased.
Catherine shrugged. "A thank you present."
Deciding to take a chance, he replied, "You can do better than that."
Grinning, she sat on his lap and complied.
