Forever Kept In Solitude

Silence falls over the waters' edge
As we drift away in solitude,
Floating as the breath of Earth creates a bridge
To where the water meets the sky
We'll comb our fingers through the stars
And our tips will grace the moon
As far below the flowers sing
Of moments gone too soon.
The distance put between us
Rolls like waves upon the shore
Concealing all our foot prints
And the memory of life before.
The grey reflects in your eyes
As sorrow illuminates your frame
And while all are going about their day
The precious moments slip away
And blur amongst crowd of rooftops
Drifting endlessly toward the horizon-
Infinite like a mirror's reflection.
So midst these dead and dreary days
I'll lift my fingers to the broken sky
And paint over all that is empty
With the colors of you and I.
Somewhere beyond our dreams
Beyond the stars, time will cease
And forever won't be so hard to reach.
But for now just turn the corner
And wait for me at the end of the street.
We know today will always end
With tomorrow nipping at out feet.
But before the dark seeps in
Sit with me before the twilight-
The last moments of our today,
As you sit, let the memories run
Through your hollow heart and pray:
That as long as we're together
Forever won't be so far away.
