Chapter 1: Touchdown
As the marines prepared for their first drop a sudden silence fell over him and his as is common with all new soldiers on their first mission little did any of them know that for most of them it would also be their last.
"So what kind of mission is this Sarge?" asks Bert the weapons specialists.
"We have to find a certain type of bacteria that grows in a lake of pure liquid nitrogen," replies the Sarge, "That's why these science nerds are coming, and it's our job to make sure these guys don`t run into any trouble.
"What kind of trouble?" asks Rick, the lead scientist.
"This is one of the few planets that has any life of any kind," the Sarge replies
"Yeah that`s why we are going here, so what I don`t think some bacteria deserve a bunch of Marines."
"It ain`t cause of the dang bacteria we goin' with yus," replies Lockjaw, one of the heavy duty soldiers.
"Then why are you coming," asks Suzie, one of the scientists, and Rick`s fiancé
"There happens to be another indigenous life form that is extremely dangerous and extremely hard to kill.
"Well we need to study those that not these bacteria," replies Eric the last of the three scientists.
"No can do," replies the Sarge, "they are too dangerous, but hey you`re the science wiz. You can study them if you want, that is if you don`t mind having all you`re limbs.
"Well," replies Eric
"Great then its settled, you get your bacteria, and we make sure you don`t get eaten," the Sarge so happily sates.
"Sarge , we are about to drop make sure everyone is buckled in tight," says a voice over the intercom
"Will do Marlow," replies the Sarge, alright now how many of you have never dropped before?"
Six out of the eleven raise their hands… including Bert, Rick, Suzie, and Eric.
"That there`s a lots of fresh meat," says Lockjaw
