15 Years Ago....
The sun was shining down through the branches of the Sacred Tree as Kagome Higurashi sat against it's trunk. She sighed. A man with white hair and dog ears that was wearing a red kimono jumped down from the highest branch and landed beside her, a look of conern on his face.
"What's wrong, Kagome?" he asked. Kagome sighed again.
"Inuyasha,I talked with Kaede and...there's something I need to tell you." The hanyou arched an eyebrow, trying to imagine what Kagome was so concerned about.
"What?" Kagome took a deep breath and clutched her stomach.
"I'm pregnant." Inuyasha didn't move. He was both shocked and overjoyed, but the shock quickly subsided and was taken over by an immense amount of happiness.
"That's great, Kagome!" he said at last. Inuyasha took her hands and pulled her into a firm embrace.
"Don't worry, I'll help you along the way. I promise." A single tear rolled down Kagome's cheek. Oh...Inuyasha, and she wrapped her arms around him.
9 months later....
Inuyasha waited outside Kaede's hut, pacing back and forth in impatience. Dammit, he thought, how much longer do I have to wait?! Just then, Kaede came out of the hut, her face hard to read.
"Well!?" he asked, his impatience growing.
"No need to be impatient, Inuyasha, ye baby is well," her face saddend. "However, Kagome..." Inuyasha didn't wait for her to finish, he raced inside the hut, and lying on a sleeping mat was Kagome, her face cold and lifeless. He was by her side in an instant.
"Kagome...Kagome, wake up," he said in a gentle voice. A single tear rolled down his cheek. "Please wake up."
"'Tis no use, Inuyasha, she is not apart of this world anymore. However," Kaede paused," There is apart of her that is still alive." He turned to find Kaede next to him, holding a bundle. Inuyasha pulled away the bundle, and in the bundle he say a baby girl with dark gray hair, tiny fangs, claws, and a pair of light-gray dog ears. The girl opened her eyes to reveal light gold eyes that stared up at her father, innocently.
"She beautiful," Inuyasha whispered. "My...our beautiful Ayami," and he kissed her on the cheek.
