Principled

He didn't have a conscience.

At least, he didn't think he had a conscience…

Until a beautiful young lady shone golden light on his shadowed, sheltered heart and showed him that he was just a little bit better than he thought he was.

Of course, he'd never admit it. He'd never admit that Rapunzel hadn't quite knocked him completely out cold that second time, and he'd known all along where the royal tiara was hidden. He'd never admit that the reason he went along with Rapunzel's crazy, all-too-trusting scheme to "see the floating lights!" was because there was something so fragile and beautiful about her total innocence that Flynn Rider found a surprise, and Eugene Fitzherbert found very refreshing.

He'd never admit that the thought of someone else finding Rapunzel—of a real villain finding the tower—made him sick to his stomach.

Rapunzel didn't know that, by the time the outlaw had admitted to her that his name was Eugene Fitzherbert, she'd wholly tamed the Kingdom's Most Wanted.

When he saw Rapunzel holding out the tiara, he wasn't even tempted. Flynn Rider was worried at the lack of interest. Eugene Fitzherbert knew that he'd found his heart a home.
