The dark sky glittered with stars above wisps of clouds. The moon shone through the clouds and lit up the world beneath, including Sweden and Finland's house.

The house was completely silent. Sweden was asleep, as was Sealand, and Hanatomago lay quietly at the end of the bed. The only person awake in the large house was Finland. He couldn't sleep and decided to sit on the window sill of Sweden's and his room.

He curled his legs up to his chest and gazed out into the starry sky. It was late November and due to snow any time. If it didn't snow, it would cause problems for him as a nation of Earth. Besides, he loved the snow. It brought back many memories.

One such memory was when he, Sweden, and Sealand all decided to go out and play in the foot deep layer of white fluffy snow. He had helped Sealand pile up and pack down a large mound before allowing the micro-nation to dig a tunnel through the middle. Hanatomago had run in and out of the tunnel for hours, Sealand following along. Finland had gotten cold and had gone inside to make hot cocoa for his 'husband' and 'son'.

Another memory had been when Sweden was raking the fallen leaves in their yard and Finland, being bored of watching him rake, had jumped into the large pile. Sweden had scolded him for a moment but soon fell into the pile with his lover. As they had sat there, a gentle snow had begun to fall, sprinkling their faces with the cold specks.

As he sat there, remembering these things, he was unaware of Sweden waking up. The large nation looked at his 'wife' and sat up. He walked over to Finland, wrapping his arms around Finland's middle. This startled the smaller country a bit but he just smiled at Sweden.

"'r y' 'kay?" Sweden asked in his thickly accented voice,

"Yes, I'm okay. I just couldn't sleep."

"What's 'n y'r m'nd?"

"I was just wondering if it's going to snow this year. It hasn't yet and it's almost December."

"d'n't w'rry. 'Ll sn'w." And, true to what Sweden said, the first flecks of snow of the year dropped from the clouds. It started out as a gentle fall, but it soon thickened, becoming a constant drop of fluffy snow.

"I love the snow..." Finland admired softly.

"Yeah. 'T's n'ce."

They sit there for a while, just watching the snow drift down to the earth. Finland felt so calm then. He had the snow, he had a house and, he had Sweden holding him tight, keeping him warm in the chilly weather.

"Sweden?"

"Hmm?"

"I wish it could snow like this forever."

"C'rfull. 'F th't h'pp'ned, 'r c'ntries w'ld h've s'me 'ssues."

"Well, I know that! It's just nice like this though. It's quiet, peaceful, and really nice."

"Hmm."

"Mama! Papa! It's snowing! Mama! Look outside!" Sealand suddenly yells. His footsteps thud against the floor in the hallway and he barges into their room.

"Wh't were y' s'yin' 'bout q'et 'n' p'cf'l?" Sweden asks.

Finland smiles. "Yes, we know it's snowing. And I'm not your mother!"

"Yes, you are."

"Fine, whatever. What are you doing up? It's far past your bedtime."

"I was worried it wouldn't snow for you, Mama."

"It's ok. It'll always snow for us."

Satisfied with the answer, Sealand came and snuggled up to his 'mama'. Finland put his arms around the boy and watched the snow fall calmly.
