Alyssa Zaidelle was walking the streets of Academia after a long day at work. Serah and Noel just left this era in the search for the Graviton Cores. With the Cores, the new Cocoon can finally rise. She decided to sit down in a bench, watching the clouds drifting in the sky. Suddenly, she heard a chilling, deep male voice calling out to him.
- You must be Alyssa Zaidelle.
Alyssa suddenly rose from the bench and saw a strange, purple haired man with a large sword staring at her. Alyssa knew that this man must be none other than Caius Ballad.
- Cais Ballad. What are you doing over here?
Cais smirked, knowing that his plan was about to come into fruition.
- Soon, both Serah and Noel will arrive here, carrying five Graviton Cores. This event will cause a Time Gate to materialize. This Artefact shall open that Gate. I have tampered with the Artefact which will cause the Time Gate to lead them into a trap.
Alyssa looked at the Artefact Cauis was holding. It resembled some kind of a building. Here was a key for the duo to move even further in time and now it has been tampered. This has to be some kind of a joke. It has to be.
- You monster. I can't believe you would do something like this.
Cais Smirked again.
- And what about yourself Alyssa Zaidelle. Are you sure that you're not living on a borrowed time all along? Perhaps you were meant to be killed when that building crashed on top of you all those years ago.
Cais handed the Artefact to Alyssa.
- Give this Artefact to Serah and Noel and then you shall be free of this torment.
Upon saying these words, Cais disappeared from the scene, leaving Alyssa alone with the booby-trapped artefact.
