Hi. This is a re-written version of my story. Same basic idea, a couple tweaks.
I don't own harry potter unfortunately.
Remus Lupin was a logical man.
When he saw the curse shooting right at him, he knew he had two choices.
Choice #1: He could duck the curse and live. He could live for his beautiful wife Tonks, the only person he was certain he loved. He could live for his son, Teddy, his pride and joy who deserved a father. He could live for Harry, for whom he had been acting as father figure for, for four years, and who he thought of as a second son.
Or, Choice #2: He could stay still and die. He could die and be with James- the first person to figure out and accept him for what he really was; the person who had made his going to school bearable. He could die and be with Sirius, who had always been there for him to lean on, understanding what it was like to be a black sheep in the family. He could die and be with Lily: the two had found sanity and friendship in each other's sensible conversations while the others were off doing something stupid.
The choice should have been obvious- live for the ones who needed him, or die and be with the ones who he needed. He knew what his friends would do, what his father would tell him to do.
But Remus Lupin was not his father, or his friends. He was himself.
The ratio of dead to living was 3:3. Remus Lupin didn't know what to do.
Yes, Nymphadora was the clincher. He would live for her. As Remus Lupin prepared to duck, he caught a flash of green and pink, and turned just in time to see her, his beautiful Tonks, topple over- dead.
Now the dead to living ratio was 4:2.
Remus Lupin was a logical man.
I know, it's not nice to give people feels through math, but that's how my mind works.
I accept all forms of reviews! If you want any other one shots or have criticism (constructive of course) please let me know!
