Tobi Can't Sleep

I got this idea a while back when I was watching the show Ed, Edd & Eddy on Cartoon Network. I thought it would be interesting to do a scene from the show with Deidara and Tobi. I did alter it a bit. Let me know what you think.

I do not own Naruto or Ed, Edd & Eddy. I make no money from writing this story.

It was just past midnight. The Akatsuki members were all in their hide-out, sleeping in their respective rooms.

Deidara rolled over in his sleep, trying to remain comfortable. Feeling something next to him, he slowly opened one of his eyes. Seeing it was only Tobi lying next to him he shut his eye and tried to fall back asleep.

It was at this moment that it clicked in his mind. Tobi was lying right next to him and uncomfortably close at that. Now fully awake he sat up and set straight to finding out what was going on.

"Tobi! What the hell are you doing?"

Tobi turned to acknowledge that Deidara was awake. He himself hadn't been asleep, but only lying back, his gaze turned towards the ceiling.

"Tobi can't sleep Sempai. Tobi keeps thinking. How can Tobi's feet smell if they don't have a nose?"

Deidara didn't really know how to answer Tobi's question. Or rather he didn't want to answer it because the question itself was just plain stupid. So instead Deidara did the next most reasonable thing he could think of. He Kicked Tobi out of his bed.

"Get lost!"

Tobi, being unphased by what just happened, proceeded to dig through Deidara's things. Finding a lump of Deidara's detonation clay, he began to play with it.

"Sempai, why is clay so squishy?"

Deidara was beginning to lose what little patience he had left, "Tobi! Shut up and go to sleep!"

Not hearing him, Tobi continued to play with Deidara's clay. He tossed into the air and caught it a few times until he missed and it and knocked over the lamp on Deidara's bedside table.

"My lamp!"

Now beginning to become rather angry with Tobi, Deidara got up and left the room. He headed towards the kitchen in hope that a midnight snack would help him relax.

Tobi followed him, still continuing his stupid questions.

"Sempai, why don't birds just take a bus south for the winter?"

Ignoring him, Deidara made it into the kitchen and raided the fridge for something to eat. Finding nothing he settled for a glass of milk. Taking a seat at the table, he drank it and watched as Tobi occupied himself by playing with the refrigerator door, opening and closing it.

"Sempai, when you close the fridge door, does the little light stay on?"

By this point Deidara decided it was best to just ignore Tobi. Tobi shut the refrigerator door and then immediately opened it again.

"Hello light!"

Tobi then closed the door again only to reopen it, "Hello light!"

Tobi continued this for several hours until sunrise. Deidara would have just gone back to his bed, but he was just too tired to move. Tobi, having finally grown bored of playing with the fridge door and dug through the fridge itself. Taking out a carrot, he went up to Deidara who's eyes had dark circles beneath them, showing his lack of sleep throughout the night.

"Sempai, carrots are good for your eyes, can they dial a phone?"

Not able to stand it anymore Deidara snapped. He grabbed Tobi by the collar and glared at him in anger.

"Tobi if you're going to strain your peanut brain then you should at least try to think of something useful! Like how we're going to find and capture the next Jinchuriki!"

Still oblivious to Deidara's bad mood, Tobi only tilted his head in response.

"Sempai, why is someone in the kitchen with Dina?"

Realizing that he was getting nowhere, Deidara let go of Tobi and sighed in frustration.

"Are the others up yet?"

End.

Yeah short and stupid I know. This seemed like a much better idea better idea when I first thought of it. My next work will be better. Although that isn't saying much compared to this.
