Ennard doesn't think he'll ever be ready for it.

Scott has to be one of the most unpredictable humans Ennard had ever met. His speech patterns change with his mood, and his mood changes with whether or not he's down in the dumps, which, sometimes he is. There are some days were it just looks like things'll never get better.

At one point Scott had such a bad panic attack that he near isolated himself from everyone. He wasn't shaking terribly, but Ennard had lived with him long enough to understand that his attacks come in all shapes and sizes. Usually Ennard is able to tell from his eyes, but this time, Scott's in his room. He can't tell if he needs company right now. While on one hand he wants to make sure he's safe and happy, but on the other hand, he doesn't want to tip the delicate relationship they'd rebuilt with each other.

Ennard loves him more than anything, that's something he can be assured of, but he still has to respect Scott's privacy, right?

He isn't so sure when he hears something, or someone, crying softly from Scott's room.

He doesn't think twice.

Ennard takes the spare key from its hook and knocks, once, twice, then a third time before unlocking the door and coming inside.

Scott doesn't say anything, instead glancing up at him and wiping his eyes, but Ennard doesn't need him to talk. He walks over to the bed, climbs up next to him, and wraps him up in what he hopes to be a warm, reassuring hug, and doesn't say much of anything else. Scott stops crying, hugs him back, and eventually falls asleep against him, listening to the sound of the rain falling outside their room window.

It's not like it magically whisks his anxiety away, but Scott looks a little better, sounds a little more content, and just feels a little more like himself, and for Ennard, that's enough for him.

honestly Ennard makes me so happy, I'm so glad he got to cuddle his bf again, praise the gods this precious boy deserves everything good in the world
