Inspired from the song Let's See Action by Pete Townshend. Pete Townshend is an amazing songwriter, and this particular song struck a chord within me.
Fly, Hedwig
XXX
Did anyone ever care?
Harry honestly never really knew. He only saw actions, but he didn't see people. Within the walls of his room, his heart craved freedom, much like Hedwig did. Unlike the Dursleys, Harry would release him from his cage from time to time, much to the owl's delight. She would fly, and disappear - sometimes for days - but she would always come back.
He wished she would take him with her instead.
The letters? He hadn't received any letters, but he knew he'd be sick of them anyway. While they would always reach their destination, he was just going to end up having to wait for its reply.
And he'd have to watch Hedwig fly again.

Very clumsy piece, but I did enjoy writing it nonetheless.
