"Have a good night." Dottie grabbed Peggy and kissed her on the lips. Peggy didn't struggle, caught off guard by Dottie's kiss. Dottie felt a warm sensation come over her. She recognized this as the feeling of victory. After all these weeks of spying on Peggy, she had finally caught the drop on her, or whatever those English people said. Dottie pulled away, smiling as she admired her handiwork.
Peggy was stunned, completely taken aback at what had just happened. Dottie was going to remember this for a long time. The look of complete and utter surprise on Peggy's face as she realized she had just been outwitted. Dottie had to laugh. Girls like Peggy went around, acting like they were oh so superior to...wait, why wasn't Peggy falling to the floor? She hadn't used this lipstick before, but she was sure that it should have kicked in by now. However, Peggy was still standing. "Dottie...I didn't know you had those feeling for-"
Dottie kissed Peggy again. Maybe she hadn't given Peggy enough sedative. She tried to get some lipstick inside Peggy's mouth, not just on the lips. Dottie pulled away. "Have a good night."
"Ah...thank you." Peggy still stood there, the same stunned look on her face.
Dottie kissed Peggy a third time. What was going on? Did Peggy have some kind of immunity? Was there some dosing issue? Was...wait, did she use the right lipstick? Dottie practically kicked herself as it dawned on her.
Peggy pushed Dottie away. "Dottie, I understand your feelings. I really do. If the circumstances were different, maybe things could work. But there's something going on that I can't explain. I'm sorry."
Peggy walked down the hall. Dottie looked at her, her heart sinking. She had let her mark get away and all because she couldn't keep track of a brand of lipstick. Just as Peggy was about to disappear down the staircase, she turned around. "Dottie."
"Yes?"
"Have a good night."
