This is set during the finale of series 5. When the Doctor steps through the crack.

Rose wiped some tears from her eyes as she climbed up the stairs to her apartment. She missed him so much. The metacrisis Doctor died a week after the real one left. His brain overheated, time lords weren't supposed to be half human, he had told her. That was the worst day of her life. Finally she had her Doctor, but now, she had nothing.

She moved away from her mum and dad, made a whole different persona: Belle du Jour. She didn't want to think about anything that tied to that magic man. Unfortunatley, that's all she still thought about.

She sighed as she climbed the final staircase, would he ever see him again?A man was standing at her door, knocking. "Rose! Rose, I've come back…I'm rewinding, you see. I hate repeats, but I just wanted to…oh this is silly-", the man said to her closed door.

Rose slowly walked toward him, "Hello. Are you alright, mate?"

The man turned around and smiled hugely, "ROSE! I-", he run up to her ready to hug her, then realized she didn't recognize him.

"It's funny", Rose smiled, "I don't know you, but you remind me of someone. I feel like…I know you."

"It's me Rose, Your Doctor!"

Rose's face turned serious, "Don't be kidding me. He couldn't come back! Anyway you don't look like him at all! He would've had to regener-oh!"

"Rose. I am the Doctor. Fantastic! Brilliant! Allons-y! Except now I'm more…cool" He smiled, gesturing at his bowtie.

"Can you stay?""No."

Rose felt more tears coming along, "Then…why did you come. I can't do this again."

"I'm rewinding Rose. There's a crack in time and space in my universe. And it's tearing it apart. I went through it to save them, but I still have to go back.""Of course""But before I leave…"

"Yes Doctor""Rose Tyler I love you, but it's time for us to move on"

Rose bit her lip, "I-I don't think I can.""Yes you can. But get another job. A proper one. And meet a nice boy."Rose smiled wearily."I've got to go now, I will never see you again…so Goodbye, Rose Tyler, and thank you."

And with that he walked down the stairs and out of Rose Tyler's life forever.
