Mortal Kombat: The Komplete Saga
Author's Note: Hey, what's up, Fanfiction readers. I'm going to start writing a Fanfiction interpretation of the entire Mortal Kombat story. I'm a huge fan of Mortal Kombat, and the series is well know for having a complex and vast universe as well as having an expanding lore and, for the most part, rich characters. Mortal Kombat is one of the most popular fighting game series of all time and to honor the franchise's 25th anniversary, I decided to tell the Mortal Kombat story from beginning to end. This fanfiction covers the events of the canonical Mortal Kombat games (MK1, MKII, MK3, MK4, MK: Deadly Alliance, MK: Deception, MK: Armageddon, MK 2011 and MKX) in order to flesh out the series' entire storyline and show that it is complete, but I will take some liberties along the way.
So, I have made a short prologue to my Mortal Kombat story, enjoy it.

Prologue: The Beginning
"For countless generations, mortals from the realm of Earth had defended their world from the forces of evil. These stories have never been told, until now. Some fight for honor, some for power. Others for recognition, still others for revenge. No longer these stories will remain a mystery. The time has come for our tale at last to be revealed. It has begun."
– The words of Raiden.
A long time ago, at the beginning of time, existed only the Elder Gods and the One Being. The One Being was an extremlly powerful entity, but had to gain his power by feeding the essence of the Elder Gods. However, the Elder Gods were not pleased about this and a war was launched between the Elder Gods and the One Being.
Despite their limitless power, the Elder Gods were unable to defeat the One Being, as the One Being's power was getting stronger due to draining it from the Elder Gods. Realizing they would not take down the One Being through sheer power, the Elder Gods set aside their differences and launched their attack on the One Being to save themselves.
In the end, the Elder Gods created the Kamidogu, six magical weapons that can take the form of an artifact. When the Elder Gods used the Kamidogu against the One Being, the Kamidogu tasted the One Being's blood and the One Being was split into six pieces as a result.
Eventually, these pieces became the realms, and life began to grow inside them. There were six main realms: Earthrealm, Netherrealm, Outworld, Orderrealm, Chaosrealm, and Edenia, each with a representative Kamidogu which held the essence of each realm.
Despite it's defeat, the One Being's consciousness had survived. Throughout the decades, the One Being had been seeking and traveling across the realms, causing greed, destruction, and conquest. The One Being had influenced many individuals, such as the Dragon King, Onaga, so they can merge the realms and awaken the One Being once again.
