You're not my Syaoran.
These were the words that Sakura's mind echoed in her head as she looked at Syaoran - no, the Syaoran of the world she was visiting in her dreams. She felt a pang inside her chest, possibly from another failed attempt at finding her partner.
She opened her eyes.
"Another dream," she mused at herself as she sat up. She looked at the clear sky and sighed.
Being a dreamseer, she had countless dreams about her Syaoran. At first, she had only glimpsed the chocolate brown color of his hair; and then, his smile and his easy stance. And then, his face. The thing that struck her the most was the color of his eyes, that amber pool residing beneath those lashes. And she would wake up.
She had surmised that 'Syaoran' was his name, or at least, what he was commonly called by the people in her dreams. She had seen likenesses of Syaoran in other worlds... and they were always paired with Sakuras in those. She saw that the pairs were really happy to be together, and she couldn't help but feel pain.
In her world, no Syaoran has arrived yet.
She knew, from a glance, that the 'Syaoran' in a world was not hers. Her heart would skip a few beats, but nothing more. There was something about them that made them belong to that world, and to the Sakura in that world. But she didn't lose hope. She didn't lose hope that someday, her Syaoran would arrive in her world.
"Princess, there is a guest asking an audience from you," Tomoyo called out. "It seems he came from a faraway country, and..."
"Yes, yes... let me fix myself in a minute."
As soon as she entered the throne room she nearly fell over when she saw the guest in question. Kneeling and wearing a hood, he slowly tilted his head up. Amber met emerald as she sat in her throne, looking curiously at his eyes. I think I saw them somewhere before...
"What is your name?" she asked. She gasped when he removed his hood, revealing chocolate brown hair and a smile.
"Syaoran. You are... Princess Sakura, right?"
Her heart beat faster. He blushed. She smiled and felt her cheeks burn.
"Yes, I am. And..."
Their eyes reflected each other, seemingly lost within the pools of color.
"... I've been looking for you."
Both blushed as they averted their gaze. After a long silence, she looked at him again, with tears in her eyes.
"... me too."
They both grinned.
Hers.
