A/N: In the spirit of Arclight Week, here is yet another piece filled with Arclight Angst (yes Arclight Angst is in fact a thing now). Enjoy everyone and don't forget to review. But no flaming.

Disclaimer: I do not own Yu-Gi-Oh ZEXAL or any of the characters, Shin Yoshida does.

"I...failed you, Vetrix…forgive me…"

Trey couldn't bring himself to look at Vetrix as those six words left his mouth. The youngest of the Arclight brothers was very ashamed of his defeat. Yes, it had nearly killed him, but to Trey, it would have been worth it if it meant that he could save his family. There was no doubt in his mind that Vetrix would be angry, no furious with him now, especially since he had not only lost the duel, but his two Numbers, including the Number 6: Chronomoly Atlandis that Vetrix had entrusted to him.

"Everything will be alright, Trey," Vetrix replied. "I promise you that."

The fifteen-year-old had been certain that the mask-wearing man-child would be furious with him. But no, he had helped Trey to his bed and helped him lay down without hurting himself. Even now as he promised Trey that everything would be okay, Trey was stunned by the comfort that Vetrix was showing him. Where was this coming from all of a sudden? Was it possible that...

"Vetrix...will you…hold my hand?" Trey couldn't believe he had asked those words until he held out his hand weakly.

As he felt both of Vetrix's hands close around his own, Trey felt his anxiety begin to slowly slip away. For a moment, the teenage pinknette actually felt as if he was with his father again. Not the psychotic mask-wearing man-child who only thought of revenge and cartoons, his real father who had always greeted Trey and his older brothers with a warm smile. The father whom Dr. Faker had taken away for his own selfish desires.

This was the whole reason that Trey and his brothers had even entered the World Duel Carnival in the first place; to get revenge on the treacherous doctor for what his selfishness and betrayal had done to their once happy family. To take everything from him just like he had taken everything from them. And maybe even bring Byron back.

"Thank you..." Trey whispered, sighing and feeling his emerald-green eyes fill with tears. Right now, the revenge-seeking Vetrix seemed to have disappeared. Trey felt like it was his real father, the man named Byron Arclight, there with him, holding his hand, comforting him. For the first time in quite a while, the youngest Arclight actually felt somewhat happy and...safe.

"I don't know why...but I'm feeling so...tired..." he murmured as his eyes closed, freeing the unshed tears from his eyes.

As he drifted off, Trey didn't fully understand what Vetrix was saying, but he did hear the revenge-seeking being that had once been his father promising to stay by his side and wishing for him to have a peaceful sleep. The pink-haired Chronomoly duelist could also swear that he heard his former father say something about Kazuma Tsukumo's son…Yuma…the boy who Trey now trusted to do what he could to help the pinknette save his family.

'Goodnight...Father...' Trey's mind uttered as his grip on reality slipped away. 'It was really good to see the real you again...even if it was only for a short time...and Yuma...please try your best to help me save my family...'

So, what did you think of this little piece? Let me know, everyone. But as I've said before: NO FLAMES!
