"Come on, Sammy. Let go of Daddy's book," John coaxed his youngest son. Sam just grinned and babbled as he continued to crumple pages and scribble.
John attempted yet again to pry his journal out of tiny hands with no success. "Mine," was the only response his son gave. John sighed and rubbed his face. He needed help, but his only backup was currently occupied with kindergarten.
John was watching Sam destroy his his journal while he pondered the merits of home schooling his oldest son. Of course it wouldn't work. School was a great asset with free babysitting services and at least one good meal. "Gimme the book."
"No."
"I'll spank you if you don't give me the book now."
"Nonono."
"Sammy, we have to get Dean from school, just give me the book so we can go," John's frustration was growing right along with his son's stubbornness.
To his surprise, Sam jumped up and shoved the journal in his hands. He then ran to the door clapping and singing, "Get De, get De."
"Maybe I could manage to homeschool Dean until you're ready to go," John grinned at his now very excited toddler. Sam just grabbed his hand and pulled him toward the door.
