Things Come to Pass
Disclaimer: I don't own Prince of Tennis or Yukimura, I just own Azura.
Author's Note: I feel somewhat hesitant to use Yukimura for the mere fact that I hardly seen him in the manga and anime. I fear that I make him a little too OOC where it won't be acceptable.
"Yukimura-san," Azura's eyes widened as she came face to face with her childhood friend. Who would have thought that they would meet again after losing contact for so long – six years, especially at the hospital?
"It's been too long since we last met, Azura-chan," Yukimura Seiichi greeted her, giving her a benevolent smile. They were in his hospital room, he accidentally left it open and she so happen to come passing by the corridor.
"It has been." Azura smiled at him as warmly as she could. Her eyes trailed over his frail looking form, able to picture how he would look proud and strong if he ever were to heal from his disease that she heard about from her cousin, whom was a tennis fanatic.
"Would you like to come in?" Yukimura asked, beckoning a chair towards him. How many times did he wish she were to visit him? He never forgot her as she plagued his mind for the years they have been apart, and now she was standing in front of him.
"I wish I could, but I need to be getting back to my cousin's house. I'm leaving tomorrow night." Azura averted her eyes as to not look into his eyes, which she was sure full of confound and maybe even hurt that she would reject him. There had only been once where she told him no and that would be the time he asked her to stay with him in Kanagawa.
"I see," Yukimura did not know what else to say. Then, as he thought more of what she just said, "What do you mean you're leaving tomorrow night?"
"Nothing gets past you when it comes to me. Three years ago, I moved to Osaka after being gone for years."
"That's right," Yukimura murmured, remembering that she was originally from Osaka in the Kansai region. Ever since they met, she talked in standard Japanese, but there were slip-ups of Osaka-ben occasionally.
"How about I come back tomorrow morning?" Azura suggested, not being able to stand seeing Yukimura look so down as she turned to face him once more.
"I would like that very much."
"Alright, it's a promise! I'll come by tomorrow morning and I'll stay with you for a few hours here during visiting hours." Azura smiled at him once more before she left.
Yukimura stared at where Azura stood just moments before. "Don't break your promise like you broke the last one. Our promise of being with each other until we graduate from high school…"
I hope you all enjoyed this. It's one of my many ficlets.
