The Queen's Handmaiden.
A RWBY and Digital Devil Saga crossover with The Gamer mixed in.
Chapter 1: The Spiral of Life.
.
People, well, humanity in general, have always been a strange fascination of mine.
I'm not an Anthropologist or anything like that.
But I just find it so weird that humanity is so damn persistent on putting everything in neat, little boxes.
Is it to make things easier for them? To make them more comfortable?
Because when something 'abnormal' comes at them and they currently can't categorise it,
They all panic, scream at the offending, hurt others.
It's, really pathetic really.
How do you try and put something extremely complex like nature and life into a box and expect everything to go your way?

The sky was swarming with beings of darkness and hate. Everything around me, the Champion, the Fiend and the False Goddess were all still here.
As I, the Devil and the Champion fought, the Fiend left a gift for the False Goddess, and took us both down.
She used the gift to take our powers for herself, leaving the Champion unmoving and I trapped. She went to take my powers.
And as my mark released its true purpose-
The entire rules of this world changed,
with a light that swallowed the world.
"Does a world of freedom make you yearn?"
A familiar voice stuck in her head, making her body twitch from unconsciousness.
"Does it make you wish for a future you can hold onto?" The voice asked, curious. "Does it make you... Eager, for a future full of possibilities that you could never accomplish, even if you ruled the world?"
Opening her eyes to a bright light made her wince, covering her eyes somewhat to help them adjust. Disorientation made it hard for her to concentrate.
The voice, full of malice and darkness, laughed. "I guess it would for a being as vile as you are. Trust me demon, with the powers you asked for, you will definitely change this boring world to one more fun. Who knows? Maybe with the choices you make, you'll be worshipped as a God."
"Who... Are you?"
"Who am I?" The voice repeated, a mocking confused tone to it's voice. The light was fading, turning into a more paler red hue. "No one important in your story, but don't worry, that will change soon."
She felt something lightly burn against her chest, the burn made her flinch, but quickly faded just as quickly as it arrived. However as soon as the burn faded, her mind was set ablaze, being assaulted by a mass amount of information and data.
"Hope to see you soon, and maybe you'll understand what I meant about-"

The light that blinded her eyes dulled, allowing to move her hand away from her eyes and to see where she was. She appeared to be in the centre of a tall, dome shaped room made from stone, lit up by the candles surrounding the room and a faint reddish light that came from above. From what she could currently see, there were two hallways, one in front and one to her right, with large wooden doors that were towering her. That was all she could tell so far, as for whatever reason she couldn't move at all.
She attempted to move, but stopped, noticing something was tugging her arms back every time she tried to move forward.
She was being held up by some sort of rope that came from somewhere above, and when she tugged on them, they pulled back with more force, causing her wince as the ropes dragged her backwards like a rag doll. She also noticed she was wearing a simple black robe that covered her entire body with red patterns that went to her back.
...Wait.
The fog on her mind lifted, allowing her to think clearly. The girl looked around, panicked and distressed. Where was she?!
"H-Hello?!" She yelled, desperate for someone to hear her. "Is anyone there?!"
But no one responded.
She quieted herself, hanging there uselessly. The girl tried to think, think back to before she woke up here. What was she doing before, where she was and what was going on.

Gamer ability installed! Activating!
Suddenly, like before, her mind was assaulted from masses of information, causing her to wince, biting her lip so she wouldn't scream. She could feel her head bloat, about to crack and shatter from the sheer volume of information entering her head.
It caused a chain reaction, her body twitched violently as her chest burned, her eyes blank and her heart beating like she ran a marathon.
Then... It stopped.
She remembered. All of her memories returned at an instant. For a second, she felt bliss, she felt like she was at peace with the universe.
Then it stopped, suddenly the events earlier hit her like a train, causing her to scowl.
"Shit, seriously Record, here?"
"Are you aware why you are here exactly?"
The realm of rebirth and reincarnation had multiple names, but the most common one used by unnatural beings was the Life Spiral. The realm was a supernatural one that consisted of the energy and spirits of intelligent beings in a small portion of a universe and was a place of peace. For some, it is a place of spiritual prosperity and rest. For others… It is a cycle of never ending life and death, souls tortured with the truth of living and dying constantly for eternity.
There was a white room, with a mahogany table with a pile of books of various kinds and a pair of chairs, with two people sitting on them.
A black haired adult women with circular black framed glasses stared at a teen girl with similar glasses, the women writing down on some paper with a pen. The women wore a white puffy t-shirt with some black spots speckled around the collar with a black skirt and matching coloured tights. She had a simple, tattered looking bow around her neck and a tattoo on her right cheek depicting a clawed hand with a smiling mouth on it.
The teen had dark brown hair tied in a short, messy ponytail that went to the bottom of her neck. She had simple, skin tight white clothes on and multiple small books on her lap. She had dull grey eyes hidden behind a pair of black, square framed glasses with vine like patterns at its sides, brown freckles decorating her face. She was also taller than the woman, who was around 5'7, compared to the girls 6'2. Other than that, there was nothing else noticeable about her.
"-So that's that?
The brown haired girl handed the woman some notes, and after a quick read she nodded and began to write them onto her note pad.
They both stared at each other for a few seconds before the brown haired girl sighed.
"Let me guess… After a freak accident I unfortunately perished during its aftermath and now I'm going to be given an offer to live another life in a different world with special abilities-" She paused and licked her lips. "However I won't be able to change the world's fate until certain requirements are met… That's about right, right Record?"
The woman, now known as Record, smiled at her. "Yep. You do remember that after all… I would be worried that you forgot, especially since your-"
"I'm your original designer?" The girl interrupted with an annoyed expression on her face. "I designed you to a recorder of sorts when I was younger, similar to Accord from Drakengard for practise. And somehow a magical being brought you to life, which is what I'm guessing anyway."
"You can say that." She rested her head on her hands. "I'm impressed that you aren't panicking."
The girl scoffed. "Must be a side effect of being a new Underlifer. Adding the fact I'm seeing my own creation speaking to me is really… What's the word...? Apathetically surprising."
Record hummed in thought, tapping her pen against her lips. "Don't think being 'apathetically surprising' is an actual term… Then again you are technically a spirit of the damned right now, and they don't to have much emotion, other than sarcasm."
Her eyes narrowed, and for a split second Record could see a hint of suspicion in her eyes before she waved her hand in the air uncaringly. "Geez… I'm showing so much emotion right now."
"Yep, defiantly a spirit of the damned." Record muttered to herself. The girl in front of her was absolutely uncaring about her situation, which was strange, as potential spirits that recently died would always panic about their situation, as their deaths came out of nowhere for most of the time; unless they were a victim of suicide, and even then they would panic about the supernatural world they had suddenly entered without warning.
But from the report she got, her designer never committed suicide. In fact the only thing her report had that told her in the details of her life was the cause of death: stabbed through the heart with a metal pipe.
Other than that she knew absolutely nothing about her.
She shuffled up her papers and took the top one off and pushed it towards the girl. The paper was a simple looking contract with unfilled boxes for the name, info and any other things a contract would have. At the bottom was a type of logo of sorts, a black circle parted in the centre to look like sharp teeth, two of the top ones considerably bigger than the others, with eight spiny limbs coming out from the sides. The top of the circle had jagged and differently sized horn shapes. "So this is a contract that will bring you a new life. I already negotiated with my creator about what abilities and such you should have, along with the added input from the notes you gave me. Usually this wouldn't happen and you'll just be sent of with a body straight from that world, however since you're my original designer, The Creator has decided that you would get an 'easier time', as they say."
The girl looked at her in confusion.
Record pointed towards the name box. "All you have to do is sign your name and such and you're ready!"
The girl looked at the sheet cautiously and began to read the contents. After skim reading through the ability part of the contract and raised an eyebrow. "So I'm heading to Remnant, which is that RWBY world correct?"
Record smiled. "Yes. I'm sure you're familiar with The Gamer and Digital Devil Saga?"
The girl couldn't help but snort as if Record said something funny. "Yeah, don't worry. So the Atma Virus, and the Gamer ability... Blah, blah, blah, along with some extra abilities and my very own semblance- Huh, this looks interesting."
Before Record could respond the girl sighed. "Alright, might as well do this. Since I have nothing else to do since I'm dead and all. Pass me a pen would you?"
The recorder merely smiled as she handed her a pen. She watched as the girl started to neatly fill out her name at the bottom of the sheet.

Signed: Casca Prowle.
Underneath was a small list of abilities and skills, which Casca seemed to accept without further complication.
"Casca?" Record asked curiously. "That sounds familiar… Is it the emperor or… "
"According to what I've heard my old parents were fans of Berserk. Apparently." Casca explained sheepishly. She seemed to be gaining some sort emotion judging by her tone. "It's an odd name, buts it's a better name then freaking Pubert."
Old parents? "…That sounds like a name that the doctor would slap you for trying to use." Record gaped.
"I know right? Seriously, there was someone at my school who was seriously called Pubert. I felt so freaking sorry for him."
The recorder couldn't help but chuckle at that. She quickly coughed and straightened out her bow, a serious look on her face. "...Are you sure you want to start there and join that route? Wouldn't it be much better to-
"Record. If I have this ability, there's no way I'm going to have a normal life, especially if people find out." Casca crossed her arms, a sinister and crude smile on her face. "Besides I was gonna join regardless of my cannibalistic abilities, and... I want to finally let loose, I don't care anymore if the world hates me anymore, I just want to have fun."
"...Alright then. I'll let Salem know then." Record, uneased, stood up from her chair. "Anyway. Since the contract has been signed you need only to walk through that door to enter your new life."
"…What do-. " Suddenly a large bright light appeared and morphed into a rectangular shape, the light disappearing with a normal looking wooden door in its place. "Oh, that door." And with that she stood up from her chair and began to walk towards the door.
Only to be stopped by Record. "Oh yeah. Before I forget." She put her hand on her shoulder. "Much like the demons of DDS you will have to consume humans, demons AND Grimm flesh to survive, whilst humans have large amounts of Magnetite to consume, the Grimm have smaller amounts. Which in turn means if you consume enough of Grimm you will be able to live normally until you get hungry again. Also, there might be some temporary lag and memory loss as everything is being set up, and after that's all complete your body will be put to sleep for after 12 hours for your old soul and new body to fully become one being. This may take around an hour depending on differences. More information can be found in the tutorial book and within your status screen."
And with that Record shoved Casca through the door.
…
'…Did she just push me through that door?'
…
'…Eh… Whatever, I'll figure out what to do once I'm out.'
…
'Wait, what did she mean by memory loss-
It took her a whole minute for Casca to recall everything. Out of context, this was probably surreal and most likely didn't make too much sense. Even in context it still didn't make complete sense to her.
But... This was all real, all of it was real and she could already feel the excitement rise inside of her.
She could finally let loose.
"Ah whatever, let's just..."
She had only watched up to volume 3 of RWBY, so the place she was in didn't ring a bell. However she had a faint idea on where she was, as when she looked down underneath her body was Salem's emblem, the antagonist of the series. So she was definitely in Salem's realm, if you could call it that.
But... That was good, Record let her arrive in the right place, just not the right situation.
"Alright, let's see if this works. [Status]."

-[Hungry.]
-Very hungry.
-Starving.
-Frenzied.
So according to this, her stats were the highest in Intellect and Wisdom, which typically meant that she's more of a magic character, so magic is more her thing than physical at the moment. And her demon was... Arachne. A spider.
She also had a hunger meter, and seeing as it was on hungry, on the lower half of the spectrum, told her she needed to eat soon before the meter drops even further. Her stomach growled to empathise this.
But first, she needed to get out.
"[Skills]."
A holographic panel appeared in front of her face, which was light blue in colour and had a list of skills, and with the exception of [The Gamer's Body] [Atma Virus] and a few other currently non important passive skills (including the never useless [Analyse]), she had two.
[Mana Manipulation]
Passive.
The user can emit mana from any part of their body and bend and mold it at will. This can be used to infuse items and to make mana based skills, along with many more useful things.
[Teleport: User's Realm]
A teleportation spell that can teleport the user and anyone else to the realm of Casca Prowle. If cast in the realm, will teleport back to the same spot they once were. The name of the realm can be changed at any time. Costs 50 MP to cast. 10 sec cast.
The skills she had were rather interesting she had to admit, both can help get her out. She could use the first skill to make a blade to cut down the rope, or the second skill to teleport out. However she wouldn't be able to get out properly if she went with the second option.
Plus, she didn't really want to escape. She wouldn't have asked to spawn here otherwise.
So might as well see what this new demon form was about.
"[Atma Virus]!"
Bip!
[Atma Virus].
Level 1.
Affliction (Incurable).
A virus made from data from the Black Sun, humans who have this virus gain an atma brand and the ability to transform into their demon avatar; this character is designated Arachne.
When transformed all base stats rise by 20%. Passive [Predator Demon] ability will be gained. At certain levels, the user can obtain demon specific skills and abilities. Level 1, user will gain [Silky Embrace], Level 25 [Venomous Snap] and [Toxic Trap], Level 50 [Acidic Shedding], Level 75 [Spawn of Arachne], Level MAX [Ultimate Demon].
If multiple bodies of human, Grimm or demon flesh is not consumed in a month, the character shall be transformed into their demon avatar permanently. In this frenzy state, the character will gain a frenzy check and will receive a 100% boost to their stats. Unless the frenzy state has not progressed past 24 hours, this state can be cured with the skill [Song of Grace]. If state has progressed past 24 hours, the only cure is death.
When there is a high Solar Noise, there is a chance when transforming that the user will enter Berserk Mode. Berserk Mode gives the user an 100% attack increase and critical rate. However defence and accuracy will be deduced by 50%. EXP and AP will be tripled with each successful hunt and kill while in this form.
This characters Atma is designated 'Crawler'.
Cannot transfer skills between human and demon avatar at this version of the Atma Virus. Rank it up to be able to use skills in both forms. However this form can use it's own mana skills.
Demon skill usage levels up the virus, along with the amount of time spent as a demon.
[Mana Manipulation], [Teleport: User's Realm] and [Analyse] is automatically compatible with [Atma Virus].
Max demon skills set at current level: 4.
As soon as she said the skills name, her had chest started to glow a faint purple light that slowly enveloped her, along with jagged lines of the same colour that was also covering her body. She felt a dull pain, almost unaware of her body shifting, growing heavier and stronger by the second. Her body grew around a quarter of her original size, her legs split into eight, slightly thicker spiny limbs, a large bump grew on her behind that slowly became most of her body, and many other smaller details that no one else would be able to see.
And, after a few seconds had passed, the light had completely died down, revealing the monster that stood where she once stood, breaking the rope that once bound her and landing on the ground in a confused and startled heap.
It was a giant black humanoid spider, standing at around two metres tall and covered from head to toe in a shiny onyx coloured carapace, with the exception of a few differences. At the front was a relatively human body, but that was it. The lower spider half consisted of its massive black, golden weaver-esque abdomen with it's grey underside, with its small spinnerets on the other end, the abdomen also had a somewhat large cluster of thick purple and yellow spikes that resembled crystals jutting out from its sides, giving it resemblance to Nerscylla from the Monster Hunter series.
The area connecting the abdomen and the humanoid body together was made from separate pieces of carapace that barely revealed the purple flesh below, which was clearly designed for more mobility for the upper half, had four pairs of spiny and jagged spider legs with pointed claws at the end that's used for grabbing onto web and stronger surfaces. The front legs were thicker and had a bladed front that looked like it could easily slice through bone.
The humanoid torso had a somewhat smooth and thick carapace and a grey covered belly, with a few jagged bits around the spine and elbow area. It's shoulders and arms had yellow circular markings on them, leading to its clawed, four fingered hands. It's head was the most bizarre, which was human shaped with a pointed and jutted chin and the now jagged carapace heading out backwards towards the ground which had fanned out near the end, with brown locks of human hair underneath that reached to her upper spine. The place where the eyes should of been was instead replaced by large zebra stripped and semi-curled, misshapen fleshy horns that pulsated every so often like the eyes of a zombified snail would. Three much smaller pair of horns on her forehead and cheeks, with the same stripes and pulsation as the eye horns.
On her face was a wicked and sharp toothed grin, left partially open from the segmented chelate chelicerae and the large fangs attached to them, making her unable to fully close her mouth. A pair of larger red pedipalps were placed near the fangs, which twitched every so often.
It was a demon, no doubt about it. An oversized spider demon.
Casca chittered harshly, which might of been a hiss. Her many legs twitched helplessly as she attempted to get off the ground with little success. "Why couldn't Record... Give me a demon form with two legs... Instead of eight?!"
Her faced smashed into the ground as one of her legs slipped on the smooth concrete. She huffed, scratching her head irritated. How on earth was she supposed-
"I see that you have awakened?"
Casca nearly smashed her face into the floor as a cold and commanding voice echoed throughout the room, a voice that was all too familiar to her. She tried to turn around to see who it was, and despite the fact she couldn't turn too well, she could quite obviously see Salem standing behind her with a semi amused look on her face. Her deathly pallor skin stood out clearly from the dark room around them, sharp and narrow eyes that belonged to a ghoul and wearing that long black robe with red designs. She looked the same from the show, with the exception of-
'A... Necklace?'
A round silver locket hung from her neck, an oval shaped and slightly scratched ruby at the centre.
'Was that... Always there?'
The demons cheeks would of turned red from embarrassment if possible. 'So much for a decent first impression...'
"Hello, excuse me, could you tell me where I am?"
Salem smiled, disturbingly warm. "You are in the Evernight Training Room, located in my kingdom of Grimm. I see that you are the one Record told me about..."
"Casca Prowle."
"Casca Prowle." Salem repeated carefully, tasting the name on her lips. "Tell me, Casca Prowle. Why did you want to join my side? You could of just joined Ozpin's side instead of mine and became the hero humanity so desperately needs. You could of become a legendary hero, who's stories and legacy would of been passed down throughout the future generations of humanity, inspiring future generations to become powerful hero's themselves. After all, from what Record has told me you have an ability that essentially, removes your limits, giving the potential to become a much more powerful being than the Gods themselves."
'She's... Talking about the Gamer ability, right? That's the only thing I can think of.'
"So... Why have you joined a side like mine? Why... Did you decide to join a side that wants to destroy humanity?"
How quickly Casca answered made Salem look at her in surprise. "Because I want to be free to do what I want, and that includes all of the horrible experiments I want to do in the future that would most likely put me in a high security mental asylum. Because, quite honestly, I am fed up of people that used to treat me like an abnormal thing ever since I was a little baby. And I am far too angry, far too down the hole to help save myself. Plus..." A long slimy tongue escaped her mouth, licking her fangs and pedipalps. "I always wanted to be a villain."
"Even if the entirely of humanity isn't cruel?" Salem questioned, curious. "Even if the entirety of humanity wishes to live in peace?"
"Pretty selfish and horrible. But someone like me likes to see others suffer, so I might as well play the villain people desperately wanted me to be." And with a few movements of her legs, Casca was finally able to stand, stretching her legs and started to slowly take baby steps around the room.
They were both silent, both staring at each other intently, even as Casca continued to walk around the room with each step becoming more stronger and confident as she was getting used to her new appendages. Salem closed her eyes in thought, fidgeting with her locket. "A person who seeks revenge, a person who seeks to worship and serve me, a person who desires strength to make sure they are never weak again, and you..." She looked up at her. "A person who wants to destroy humanity and to live a life of freedom."
Casca couldn't help but tap one of her back legs on the ground, before making a simple rhythm.
"Very well... I will allow you to join, if you complete a simple trial."
Low growls suddenly echoed throughout the room, all coming from the four hallways of the room. A single young Beowolf stalked out on all fours of each one, ears pressed against it's skull and white teeth fully present. It's orange eyes glowed red, leaving a small trail as they moved to Salem's side. Casca hissed, rearing backwards, her horns switching stripes rapidly, claws raised and her bladed legs high in the air in threat. None of the Beowolves seemed to care and Salem seemed amused at her display.
"The trial... Kill these Beowolves. If you succeed, you can join my side. Lose..."
One of the Beowolves snapped its jaws at her, clearly signifying that she wouldn't live if she lost.
"Can you give me a minute to get ready then?"
Salem nodded, giving her permission.
She examined the Grimm carefully, muttering a word under her breath as she examined each one. She scraped her one of her front legs on the ground, raising her finger and pressing against the air in front of her multiple times, reading the air in front of her. She spent a full minute doing this, muttering words such as 'skills' and 'auto-loot' before stopping to stretch her arms. One of her back legs reached to the back of her abdomen, a small tug that made the demon smile.
"I accept these conditions."
She was starting to get hungry after all.
Salem only smiled, walking away and into one of the hallways as the Beowolves slowly stalked towards Casca, each one separating into groups of two. Both groups started to surround and circle her and ready to pounce, waiting for someone to make a move.
And Casca did.
"[Zio]!"
A lightning bolt hit a Beowolf from above, sending it back a few feet and causing it to crumple to the ground like a sack of potatoes as the body began to spasm slightly, the smell of burnt fur filling the air. The Beowolf stopped spasming after a few seconds and whined, getting up and moving away to recover. The other Beowolf howled, prompting the other group to join in before they all ran towards Casca, all filled with the intent to kill.
Casca hissed, tugging her back leg and pulling out thick webs from her spinnerets. In a quick movement, she scuttered away, catching a mid air Beowolf by the leg and pulled, dragging the Beowolf towards her with a yell before catching it with her hands and front legs. Raising her bladed front legs, she began to dig to the struggling Beowolf's back as the Beowolf howled in agony as the blades dug deeper into its fur, tearing away flesh and muscle.
However she couldn't continue for long as one of the other two had snuck up behind her and slashed her back legs, making her scream and hiss as she collapsed onto the floor in pain crushing the dying Beowolf underneath her. The one behind her immediately started to repeatedly slash at her at her abdomen, continuously getting frustrated as the carapace and aura stopped it from making any lasting damage. To Casca's and Salem's surprise, the aura barrier had shattered after the third hit, even if the carapace stopped most of the damage. The other Beowolf snarled and tried to attack her front, but with's Casca's claws and use of Zio was unable to get to close without getting a face full of claw and lightning.
Then the attacking Beowolf, the one behind her, made a mistake.
He was right by her spinnerets.
Casca smirked. "[Silky Embrace]!"
Her spinnerets glowed a dark red before launching large threads of sticky golden webbing straight at the attacker who yelped in surprise before falling to the ground with a thud. The Grimm struggled against the sticky, slowly hardening web in vain. Casca quickly manoeuvred on top of the down Grimm, being careful to not hurt her back legs too much as she lifted the Grimm up and began to wrap it up with webbing with precision and speed, spinning the Beowolf constantly all the while.
Salem examined the fight intently, looking at Casca and putting down small mental notes. She was surprised at how fast she had gotten used to her new body, as a few minutes ago she stumbled around like a newborn deer, confused and weak. But now she moved and knew exactly what to do with her new body like she's had it for most of her life. The way she wrapped up the Beowolf without too much difficulty and set it aside as she dealt with the last healthy one with multiple Zio's.
She seemed to know how to deal with these newly created Grimm as well, and now that she thought about it...
The realisation made her smile, so she had analysis powers as well?
"Oh Record, you are truly a good friend."
She was going to enjoy making this girl blossom to her full potential. Ozpin would never see it coming.
She had a new tool, willing to bring down humanity for heartless and selfish reasons.
However...
Salem's eyes narrowed. This girl look far too familiar to HER to be a coincidence.
"Alright, last one is you." Casca stabbed through the head of the webbed up Beowolf with one of her legs and picked up the now dead beast in her arms, she tore away some of the webbing around its neck and began to tear into its flesh, cringing at the somewhat ashy taste in her mouth. The last one was the first one she attacked, who was still hanging by the walls and panting. It wobbled onto both of its hind legs and turned towards her before falling onto all fours, growling.
And then, it happened.
The Beowolf shook violently as it held it's head and howled into the heavens, its eyes turning blood red and gaining orange pupils. It smashed it's head against the ground as a thick black aura covered its body as grinning toothy mouths marked themselves onto it's now ragged fur. White spikes burst out from under its flesh on its back, curving backwards before splitting near the end.
"What on Earth..?"
The now transformed Beowolf giggled, it's broken laughter sounding like a distorted school girls laughter. It wobbled, getting on its hind legs again before charging at Casca ready to-
"ENOUGH!"
Time seemed to freeze as soon as the crazed Beowolf had jumped. The world froze instantly, so Casca thought, maybe she was going madder than usual. However time resumed it's normal pace, the Beowolf howled as massive spear shaped projectiles struck the beasts side, sending it straight into a wall, pinned in place by the projectiles. One larger projectile pierced it's skull, killing and dissipating it instantly.
Casca blinked, her brain slowly registering what happened. Her eyes slowly followed towards the direction the projectiles came from before landing on Salem, her pupils dilated and skin sweating.
"Salem..?"
Salem clutched her chest in pain, her red eyes glowing somewhat brighter for a split second before returning to normal. She held up her hand to speak, "You... You have passed this trial and have proved your competence in battle." The large wooden doors suddenly burst open, causing Casca to flinch and cover her none existent ears as the door made a loud noise as it scraped against the concrete floor. A large Alpha Beowolf came in on all fours, walking up to Salem before bowing and heading towards Casca, letting out a small growl. "You will be taken to your new quarters, I will summon you later to introduce you to the rest of the council."
The demon clasped her hands nervously, unsure on what to say. In all honesty the fight wasn't too hard, and it wasn't much of a trial if the Grimm were only level ones and twos. "Thank you, Salem. But can you tell me what that was?"
"An anomaly, and something Record should of fixed." Before Casca could respond, Salem's eyes glowed red once again. "I will inform you of the situation after I summon you for introductions, for now, go to your quarters and wait for further instructions."
The Beowolf nudged Casca's abdomen, urging her to leave. Casca was still hesitant, but nodded in acceptance. She bowed in courtesy, lowering her head. "Yes, Mistress."
At the bow the Beowolf began to walk away to the hallway it came from, stopping to make sure Casca was following it before continuing after confirming she was still following it. They both left, leaving the door open.
"So Casca's been accepted?"
Salem closed her eyes at the voice. Where Casca once stood was Record, her eyes unreadable. "I thought you fixed the anomaly..." Salem started calmly.
"There's been a few complications..."
Salem didn't respond, however she was clearly waiting for a proper answer. Record sighed. "I know the Blessed Grimm causes you intense stress, and I know the anomaly is affecting this world on a large scale. However something important had came up that The Creator themselves and most of the staff are currently focusing on, especially now that Kami has escaped. But thanks to our observations and your insight we now know he's residing somewhere in this dimension and is indeed causing the Blessed Grimm to spawn."
"Was it also another reason to send the demon here?"
"Yes." Record nodded. "Along with her... Past and mental state that requires purification, we also sent her here to imprison Kami when we locate him. I would have given her more strength and abilities, however since most of the staff is gone I can only do so much."
"Which was why-"
"I gave her the Gamer ability, which essentially removes her limits."
"I see... Why did you bring 'her'?"
"...Salem, your one of the only person living and purified who knows her mother. Casca... I think she isn't to fond of her. In fact I think she's like this because of her."
At Salem's silence, Record continued. "I need to leave, make sure her soul and body properly become one before you put her through anything too strenuous." She bowed. "See you later Sally."
"Don't, call me that."
So. The reboot has landed, and things are much more different than before. And I apologise if Salem if out of character in anyway.
To the old people who read Digital RWBY Saga, hello again! I apologise for cancelling the old story, however I just didn't want to write it anymore due to poor planning and schedule. So instead of leaving you all in the dirt, I decided to make this instead, a reboot. It comes with a main character who willingly works for Salem and goes through character development to better herself mentally and possibly re-think life choices, along with updated and a more understandable system and a brand new demon form!
The demon form was inspired by: Nerscylla from the Monster Hunter series, tumblr user Gemskull's art on the Persona 4 protag as a spider monster and Loki from Persona 5 (tho this does have major spoilers, beware).
And hopefully it won't feel like I'm going nowhere with this.
To the new people, hello! I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
To everyone, thank you for reading this chapter! Please review and shit to let me know what you think so far! And for any Danganronpa fans out there, make sure to check out my other story 53 Lies and Counting.
(I swear when I check this out later I'm gonna notice so many mistakes, as usual)
Well, I hope you all have a good day! I probably won't be able to update for a bit as college is starting up again soon.
Ciao~
