People often ask me why I don't write William very often, simply enough, I don't want to be disappointed if my William ends up being better than an XF3 William (if it EVER happens). So I will stick with a SHORT and SIMPLE version of him.
KIND of back after an extended break! I'll update when I can! Miss you guys!
Disclaimer: I do not own X-Files or any of the Three Dog Night song Joy to the World THANK YOU! :-D
Fingers strummed along the guitar strings, hitting wrong notes along the way but this was his outlet, it was his way to get whatever was in his little head out into the world, out for all to hear. Well at least for him to hear, he'd never play in public. His headphones were on, listening to himself play and playing along with the music he listened to. The one way he knew he wouldn't disturb anyone.
"Jeremiah was a bullfrog…was a good friend of mine… Bah, wrong note, Will. Come on Will you got this." William had listened to the song, as if it had some strange meaning behind it, why did he know it so well, why did it calm his nerves when he was sad? Over and over again he'd listen, fine tuning his guitar and his hand placement on the instrument. He'd never known why but this song made him feel complete. He'd get flashes of street lights as if being in a car late at night and hearing the song so vividly, someone singing with the music or to him. William tried again and hummed along with the tune while trying to hit the right notes this time as he tapped his foot and rocked his head back and forth getting into the music. He was capable of a lot these days, seeming to excel in everything but there was something about guitar that challenged his brain, it wasn't something he could just do for once. He actually had to try and practice and he wanted to do it.
"If I were the King of the world, tell you what I'd do, I'd throw away all the cars and bars and the wars and make sweet love to you…"
Again and again he played tuning out the world around him, always in his own little world as he seemed to be most of his life. Eyes closed as he strummed the guitar he was finally getting it and smiling at himself, feeling happy and satisfied at this very moment, peace oozing from his solitude. He didn't know why it made him feel complete but he'd relish it when he could.
"Joy to the world, all the boys and girls now, joy to the fishes in the deep blue sea, joy to you and me…"
