AN: My first Red Swan fic. Short little one-shot in response to a prompt on tumblr.
Emma walked through Ruby's house in khakis and a bra.
"Ruby, where are my white wife-beaters?" Emma inquired.
"Oh. I washed them. They're in the dryer right now," Ruby replied in her peppy way.
"Thanks."
Emma gave Ruby a kiss on the cheek, walked to the laundry room, and sat on the washing machine waiting for the dryer to be finished.
Ruby was doing chores around the house and Emma stared at her girlfriend. From the red streak in her hair to the short shorts she always wore, she was the cutest little thing.
"Ruby," Emma called trying to get her attention over Ruby's iPod.
"Ruby," Emma yelled a little louder.
"Huh?" Ruby turned around to face Emma.
Emma patted her hand on the dryer next to her and motioned for Ruby to come sit next to her.
Ruby sauntered over climbed up on the dryer next to her second favorite person in the world. (Her first being Granny.)
Both women sat in silence listening to the low hum of the dryer.
"So what are you doing today?" Ruby asked.
"Well, I have to go to work. I'm going to sit at my desk most of the day pretending to do work when I'm really thinking about you and Henry. Then I'm going to go to Granny's dinner for dinner and my waitress will be this cute girl with red in her hair. Finally I'm going to go home and that cute waitress will think about me until she sees me tomorrow."
Ruby smiled, "I'm going to work at the dinner and think about the hot sheriff. Then after thinking about her all day, she will end up coming for dinner, and I'm going to be her waitress. And then when she leaves I will hope she comes back tomorrow."
Emma leaned in and kissed Ruby just as the dryer went off.
Emma hopped down and was followed by Ruby who went to go get a laundry basket.
"I thought you said you were washing my shirts?" Emma asked pulling out one of Ruby's many red cloaks.
"I did. Your shirts are in there too."
"Ruby," Emma whined knowing the state her favorite shirts were going to be in when she pulled them out.
Emma reached in and pulled out 4, now pink, wife-beaters.
"Ruby," Emma whined again.
Ruby looked over and saw the shirts in Emma's hands, "I'm sorry. I didn't know. Granny usually does the laundry." Ruby explained quickly as she was very sorry for her mistake.
Emma looked at her pink shirts and pouted.
"I'm going to need new shirts." Emma knew they were only shirts, but they were her favorites, and new shirts weren't the same as the old ones.
Both Ruby and Emma stood in silence for a moment, mourning the now pink shirts. Ruby didn't like seeing her girl upset and knew how to cheer her up.
"But you look cute in pink." Ruby said as she walked over to Emma and planted a kiss on her lips.
Emma smirked and gave in, knowing that the pink shirts were only an accident, and that there were plenty of worse things. Besides Ruby was one of those people that were really hard to be mad at.
Don't worry. I'll get back to my other stories. Eventually.
