Fool For Love

Casey has a secret. Not one that's too big, but not one that's small either. She hides it from everyone. Hoping that no one will know of her secret passion. Of course this passion could only be filled by one particular person. But he was otherwise incapable of having, and as she sat there flipping idly through her secret he walked down the stairs. Quickly, and in a state of great panic Casey shoved her secret underneath a pillow and smiled sweetly at him.

"What's wrong with you?" Derek asked, smoothly raising his eyebrows.

"Nothing," She said too quickly.

"Oh really?" He said walking over toward his chair.

"Yep." Casey said, nodding her head vigorously.

"Something looks and seems wrong. Of course that could just be your face." Derek said immaturely.

"Nice one." She said, glaring at him as he sat down. "Too bad you used it yesterday."

"What, you remember our fights?" He said smirking.

"Shut up." She snapped, picking up a pillow and flinging it at him. The only problem was, it's wasn't a good choice of pillow to throw.

"Hmm... what's this?" Derek asked, picking up the book that the pillow was once covering.

"Give that back." Casey said, standing up. She made her way over to him, attempting to snatch the book away, but he held it just out of her reach.

"A romance novel." He said, squinting at the small print on the back. "Since when are you one of those people?"

"I'm not one of those people!" She objected, noticing he wasn't keeping too hard of a hold on it she snatched the book away.

"Yeah right, Case. I just caught you red handed." He said standing up and skipping around his chair and the couch. "Just admit it already."

"Admit what?" She said, through clenched teeth.

"That you're a fool for love!" Derek said, choosing to skip around the family room yelling in a sing-song voice. "Casey likes romance! Casey likes romance!"

"Shut up!" She yelled, lunging at him when he came near enough to her.

"Whoa," He said as he caught her wrist. She had just been trying to slap him, and of course Derek's reflexes were much faster than hers. "Princess, don't get mad!"

"Let go." She said, seething.

"Maybe I don't want to." He said, taking a step closer to her.

"Why wouldn't you?" Casey whispered, as he was only an inch away from her.

"Because I want to do this." He said. And skillfully lifted her chin, with the hand that didn't have her wrist in an iron lock hold, planting a kiss on her lips.

It was small and quick. Too quick for Casey. When he pulled away, she licked her lips idly, staring up at him. His eyes were boring into hers, looking for some kind of rejection. And whether it was the heat of the moment, or the shock she felt when their lips pressed together, Casey did the most daring thing she'd ever done in her life. She grabbed the back of his head, dragging him closer; she rammed her lips into his. Responding instantly he dropped her wrist and pulled her closer to him.

So what if Casey had a secret that had just been found out. It wasn't going to stop her from enjoying every last minute of it.
