Jack watched Samantha look in the envelope. She seemed shocked by the $1000 for just one photo.
Jack wasn't sure what to offer her to begin with, she did have a little bit of talent and he wanted her to be surprised.
Jack had a feeling that she wouldn't know who the gesture was from, though. Even though she had a PH.D., he knew sometimes Samantha didn't seem to be able to figure out things that were very simple.
He couldn't really fault her. He loved her and all her flaws, and he knew he always would. Now, he just needed her to come out of hiding so he could start the process of starting to woo her again.
