Summary: Some people would call it stalking, he thought of it as his way of ensuring the safety of a fellow colleague.

He pulled up just as she was exiting her vehicle. With his headlights dimmed he easily managed to ease his car to a rest on the side of the road opposite her apartment complex without being noticed.

He'd been doing this, virtually every night, for the past few weeks that his activities came as naturally as getting coffee in the morning. To him there was nothing strange or remotely obsessive about his actions, they were perfectly normal for an overprotective boss, who occasionally wished to be more.

Bringing his hand to rest on the lid of his coffee cup, he distractively stated turning it in his car cup holder. As he watched her movements, from her car to the front door of the building, his hand subconsciously slipped to the body of the cup and was brought it to his waiting lips.

As he took a sip of the dark beverage he observed her entering the building and disappearing around a corner. No doubt to the elevators he thought as he brought the cup to rest in between his thighs, both hands wrapped firmly around the circular cardboard, drawing forth it's warmth onto his palms.

Casting his eyes skyward he fixed his gaze on a specific window, three floors up, two from the right.

Within a few tense minutes, said window blazed to life as light escaped through the thin curtains and meshed into the oblivion of the night.

At least she got into her apartment.

With a satisfied, but brief, smile he replaced his cup in its holder then proceeded to start his car.

Maybe one day he thought to himself, as he pulled his car out onto the near empty streets, he would go up and see her instead of watching her from afar. For now though, he was content with the way he conducted himself.

From a window three floors up and two from the right, a figure sighed deeply as she watched him drive off into the night.

"There's always tomorrow," she whispered dejectedly, knowing it would be a few hundred more tomorrows before her routine, and his would change.

Author's Note: Yes I know it's short, but I hope it's good. With the lack of KIBBS stories going up, I decided to try and save my fellow 'shippers from dying from all the TATE stuff that is floating around. No offence to the writers of those stories.

Remember feedback is always appreciated, so please leave me a review. I'm hoping to hit double figures one day, so every review counts. Even something like "Good job" or "Great" will make me happy. So please review. Ima pleading here. Anyway thanks for reading! And until next time.
