As the bow tie fell to the floor, it wasn't forgotten. No, not forgotten. For it was the precious accessory of this face. The Doctor had no clue wether this regeneration would prize the bow ties as much as he did now. But they had characterized this face-this face that had seen so many people, fought so many foes, and saved so many lives.

This face was known for wearing the silly neck accessory. All those people he had met and helped would remember him as the strange, excited man who wore the silly bow ties and mumbled rubbish that they never quite understood. They'd remember him for different reasons-whether they thanked him, they missed him, they loved him, or they feared him. They would associate this face with those emotions. And now, that face would soon be gone. This face would no longer make more memories, no longer see other people. No more fear would be spurred by this face, and neither would happiness or joy. No more people would meet this face. No more enemies would face it.

As the bow tie fell, it wasn't forgotten. For it was a memoir of this face. It was a reminder of who he met, what he had done, and impressions he made with this appearance. It would be a reminder that would remain even after the people who recognized these features as the Doctor faded. That was how time worked. People always had their time to leave. And though these people may pass their stories abot the Doctor down for generations, these people wouldn't see the face associated to the Doctor of these stories.

And when it finally landed on the ground, and the Doctor finally regenerated, the bow tie that lay on the floor remained as the physical memory of this face.

LunaC: well, this was my first shot at a Doctor Who story. Well...its more like a drabble...anywho, this was kinda spurred off of the angst I felt when he had taken of the bow tie at the end of 'The Name of The Doctor'. Was anyone else upset about that?

I'd appreciate reviews, just because this was my first attempt at a Doctor Who fic and I would like to know your opinions :)
