The chilly air surrounds Tegan as she walks out of the run down shop and through the park en route to her flat. She likes taking the scenic route on days like this, when she doesn't feel like going anywhere in particular. It gives her time to forget what she's supposed to be doing. On the run, avoiding her duties for as long as she can, gives her some sort of strange comfort.

Like the Doctor.

Autumn is when she misses the Doctor the most, even three years after she left the TARDIS for good. She always enjoyed watching how things changed over time, and what time showed more drastic change than autumn? The trees wouldn't go easily. They put up one hell of a fight. And, damn it all, they put on a good show before they finally withered away into winter.

Like Adric.

Her corduroy pants make a swish as she walks, huddled into a tight knot as she makes her way down the street. Autumn is colder here than it was in Brisbane. Why she's still living in London, she'll never know. It's easy. It's safe. All that traveling around the universe got old. Staying in one place seems like a good idea at the moment. She really wishes she were just simply home right now, wherever that meant.

Like Turlough.

The wind whistling hollowly through the trees at the park reminds her of how lonely she feels. She could really use a change right now. Wallowing in self pity as she worked two half-rate jobs in London wasn't going to do her or anyone else any good. She could do something. She could pluck herself up and do whatever she set her mind to. Life had no business showing getting her down. She could volunteer. She could help people.

Like Nyssa.

She crosses her arms tighter to brace herself against the cold as she bolts across the street. There are people out there who need help a hell of a lot more than she does right now. Just because exploring the universe has stopped being fun, doesn't mean she can't fight other evils. She might not have to fight Daleks, or Cybermen, but there are still a whole slew of humans who are nasty, too. She's feisty. She's a fighter inside. She has to keep going, keep moving forward, even if it means tripping up and falling down in the process. She'd forgotten that around the time she left the Doctor. She's got to be her old self again, or she'll best. If nothing else, she's indestructible.
