Captain on Deck!

Disclaimer: I own nothing but what you see here. And now for something I think folks are going to love the Hell out of. Takes place in Arrow episode 3x19 when Lance informs Oliver of Roy's death.

As Oliver stood there at the doorway reeling at the news of Roy's loss, the final words Lance had just spoken to him were on repeat through his head. And if he was honest with himself, he was getting angier by the second at how much of a huge ass the older man was being. Its one thing to blame him for what happened to Sara, but to blame him!? What a complete bunch of garbage! Looking at his sister who was sat on the couch with tears coming down her face over the loss of Roy, the archer came to a decision that he knew would probably make things worse but at the moment he just couldn't give a damn right then. Turning around and seeing the back of Lance. "Hey Detective..." The man called out softly, making the older man turn to him with a look of annoyance on his face.

"I'm a Captain now remember?" The sarcasm was definitely not an appreciated thing for Oliver and it only made his anger grow.

Balling up his fist and letting his anger show, he said the first things that came to mind. "No, the fault isn't mine at all Captain." And with that, he took a mighty swing at the jaw of one Captain Quentin Lance of the SCPD.

The man instantly went down in pain, prompting Thea to come over immediately in shock after hearing him fall. Oliver didn't do anything except squeeze his balled hand even tighter until his knuckles went completely white and look down at the fallen man. "The fault… Is all YOURS."

Groaning and stunned as Hell himself, the good Captain got up as he rubbed his aching jaw and fixed the jerk with a glare that did nothing to affect him. "You're lucky I don't arrest your ass here and now Queen." Lance snarled out angrily. Hell he should do it anyway!

"And I suggest you get the Hell out of OUR home before I hit you again Captain." Lance's anger increased even more over the sneered disrespect for his title.

But get out he did and not even giving a further thought to the possibility of how in the wrong he'd been tonight with the Queens about Roy Harper. Inside the loft, the two siblings hugged each other as Oliver began to let his own tears fall along side Thea's for the loss of his friend and protege.

Author's Notes: Short? Yes, but I think it gets the point of what I'm doing here across well enough. Lance really and truly did deserve a good solid punch to the jaw after that garbage 'I'd say I'm sorry but I think we both know who's fault this is.' line.
