Author's Note:
Greetings everyone,
I know it's been a long time since I've posted anything new here, and I hope that you can all forgive me for that, but I come bearing new gifts. As you will notice, I've posted to a new 'fandom' here with this entry, and I hope that you will bear with me for a moment while I explain some things about it.
First off, you may notice that this is posted as a cross over between The Wizard of Oz and Tin Man. Really; it holds none of these characters, at least not in the sense that you will recognize any of them. I posted it as a crossover of the two because the story takes place in Oz, it does not have Oz, the Wizard as a character and from Tin Man, and it says "Any" under the characters listing. This is because the characters from Tin Man will be mentioned in the abstract, not directly. Why did I do it like this? Well, because this is a 'New' Oz story. All the characters you see mentioned that you don't recognize, which will be the majority of them, along with the story line are my original ideas, and the story only relates to the fandoms of The Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum and Tin Man from RHI Entertainment and SyFy by taking place in Oz and 200 years after the events of Tin Man.
As for how this story came to be, here is little bit of a background of what has happened and what will happen in the telling before beginning the story; first off, the idea for this story comes from many different places. First and foremost it is inspired by both L. Frank Baum's Oz series and Greek Mythology. The title, Child of the Sun stems directly from Greek Mythology as noted in the Forward by Plato. The time frame of this story is 200 years following SyFy Channel's story, Tin Man which is also based on L. Frank Baum's world of Oz. Other inspirations for the story come from Apollo Smile's song, Thunderbox.
After reading a good portion of L. Frank Baum's Oz series, it came to light that he dabbled in not only magic, but what might possibly be considered transgender thoughts. This is not to say that L. Frank Baum was himself transgendered, but merely points out that his character, Ozma, the rightful ruler of Oz had once been called Tippertarius, a character for the part of the series who was in fact male. This way of thinking brought on the idea that one might be able to write a story about Oz in which the relationships between the characters might be viewed as falling into the same general category. While none of the characters in Child of the Sun are transgendered or change gender via magical devices of any kind, the relationship that develops between Mica and Ethan in the telling of this story is not for anyone who is against the gay community or gay rights. If the story concept offends you, simply don't bother reading any further. As described in Plato's Forward, those thought to be Children of the Sun that were condemned and shunned by the gods were both male.
I have posted the story to my account at webook dot com and submitted it – the first 250 words of the 'first draft' of which this is the re-edit and thusly the second draft – for their page to fame program in the hopes that it is good enough, which I may resubmit the second draft for, if the first draft version doesn't make it into round two, in the hopes that I can publish it.

A new Oz book for a new age. Legend of the Pheralios says that every 10,000 years a Child of the Sun is sent to Earth.... A legend that says they are sent to Earth to find their true mate before returning home. But... it's only a legend...
Full Summary: (too long for fan fiction summary box)
Mica's world has been torn apart, his memories fragmented and scattered. No one really knows just who he is, his origins are shrouded in mystery. He doesn't even know for certain if Mica is his name, but that's what they tell him; Daynah, the princess of Oz and her companions, Abbey and Tanner. Abbey and Tanner tell the story best... he was adviser to Queen Violet Rose whose rule was overthrown by her daughter Ozeria, Daynah's older sister just after Ozeria killed their brother Tippertarion.
Mica had also been Tippertarion's body guard - that's how he lost his memory... how he angered Ozeria so much with his interference that he pushed her to kill Tippertarion. One thing he hasn't forgotten is heroism...during their travels they come across Ethan Matthews, and Mica insists on helping him, but at what costs does that help come?
I hope you enjoy the story.
