She was the girl no one ever noticed. The girl that lived next door to Eli Goldsworthy. The girl who spent more time at Church then her actual home. The girl who said 'Schools before fools.' As if that was an actual phrase.

She was Clare Edwards.

To most she was just baby Edwards, Darcy's little sister. She'd read all through her advanced school programs, and attend Church whenever she could, even if she'd already gone yesterday. Eli could never imagine doing that, what with being an athiest and all. But Clare was different. Whenever Clare would look at him he'd barely pay attention, way too interested in Darcy Edwards.

Darcy was everything Eli could ever want, and more. She was a popular cheerleader. A senior. Beautiful in every way. Eli was determined to make her his.

He'd do anything he could to make the girl notice him. Leave flowers on her doorstep, inbox her on Facebook, even leave love notes on her locker after lunch everyday. Darcy wasn't interested in him, but he was interested in her.

But there was one Edwards who did notice Eli. Clare Edwards. The little girl Darcy would walk home everyday. The church girl. Darcy's baby sister who had saved Darcy from Adams. Eli had saw Adams that day. Had he known what his intentions were, Darcy never would have met him.

But Eli's whole prospective on his love life changed that one Tuesday. The first day of his Junior year, when his car ran over baby Edward's glasses.
