You Darn Tease

"Whoa, whoa, whoa! What was that?"

Viper stopped, not turning to meet Mantis' confused stare. "What was what?"

"You know: THAT!"

She smirked to herself, feeling lucky that he couldn't see her sly look that easily read 'I'm so going to mess with you'. "'That' what?"

"That peck on the cheek!" he shouted, agitated slightly that he had to repeat himself.

"Ohhhhh, that thing..."

"Ohhhhh, yeah, that thing!" Mantis repeated mockingly, shaking his head, distressed by what had happened just two minuets before. "You don't just do that and walk away! Why do women insist on kissing guys and then just walking away?"

"You mean like this?" Before Mantis could blink, Viper quickly slithered up to him and gave him another quick peck on the cheek. Seeing his wide-eyed, 'staring into space' expression, she giggled and turned, slithering away once more.

Mantis blinked a few times, stunned, before shaking himself back to reality. "You're doing it again!"

Viper grinned to herself, again, not turning to face him. "Doing what?" she asked innocently.

"Kissing then running!" he explained. "Jeez, what is it with you women and your teasery?"

Now it was Viper's turn to be confused. "Teasery?"

"Yes," Mantis replied, calmly, sure of himself and the word he had literally just invented. "Teasery."

"Did you just invent that word?"

"Well, duh!" he retorted, "The 'r' and 'y' at the end of 'tease' really gets my point across!" For a moment, he went off topic, proud of his newly invented word, "Wow, I'm a friggin' genius! I should write my own scroll of new words one day!"

Viper turned to face Mantis, giving him an un-impressed look.

Seeing Viper's un-impressed expression aimed at him, Mantis cleared his throat and went back on track with his 'rant'. "Anyway, point is, if they made a scroll of world records, you'd be number one under the 'teaseist-woman-in-the-world' category!" He paused. "Wow! Another one! I'm seriously going to write my own scroll pretty soon!"

Viper smiled, rolling her eyes at his ego. "Goodnight Mantis," she replied, chuckling as she slithered away, back toward the Jade Palace.

Mantis watched her go, smirking to himself with much pride. "She totally wants me."

A/N: Wow, my first KFP story. Please be gentle, I tried my best though I don't think I did good. This was just written for fun. Thanks to my new friend KristenTheKittyKat, Mantis/Viper has become one of my new OTPs. I love 'em together. You should defiantly check out her KFP stories, and her Mantis/Viper story "Quotes". She's an absolutely amazing author. :)

In fact KFP might be my new favorite fandom. I love IZ still, but after watching the first film (and second) for the first time back in December with my five-year-old little brother, I gradually (very quickly, actually) grew attached to the films. Mantis is easily my favorite character, probably because Seth Rogen is my all time favorite actor and is Mantis' voice actor. They're literally like the same person. XD I love 'em both.
