A/N: Why hello there! How are you? I'm good. Welcome to my newest edition to Yes it is slash. If you don't like it, turn around and leave now before you read anymore. For returning slash-y friends, welcome once more. Can you believe that it has just been a few weeks since I have finished 'Taste of Forbidden Fruit'? I just felt so empty that I looked at the rest of my fan fiction that I have written. It's all one-shots or Challenge fics. So here I go diving into another fic…
A/N2: flubber asked me for a Radek Rodney fic, which this is; but I don't know if she'll want another one… eh maybe…
Rating: T
Pairing: Radek Rodney
Disclaimer: I don't own Stargate, or A Dog's Breakfast really, I just stole the title.
Chapter 1
"Ow, Fuck!" Rodney cursed from underneath the Ancient paneling. Sparks erupted over his head.
"Rodney you are alright yes?" Radek asked from the other side of the device that they were working on. Rodney waved him off.
"I'm fine, I'm fine," he said. Zelenka shrugged; there was nothing that he could do to convince him to tell him what was wrong.
"Are you sure you know what you are doing McKay?" Zelenka winced at Colonel Sheppard's question. McKay turned his sour gaze towards the Colonel.
"If Colonel, if, I knew what I was doing would you think that I would be the one underneath this dusty panel, risking my allergies, and having the stupid thing spark on my head?!" he spat. Sheppard looked like a small child that had been scolded. Scowling he turned away from the scientist and began to talk into his radio.
Zelenka shrugged when McKay turned his glance over to him and they went back to work.
The device was something they found in one of the bigger labs that they found, that the Botany department wanted to use as soon as they found out about it. The lab itself was airy and received a good amount of sunlight in all times of the day, so it was suitable to make a greenhouse out of it. However there was a good amount of equipment that needed to be checked and cleared out before that could happen. This meant a good amount of time that the Engineering and Physics departments had to put in a lot of time to make sure that most of the dangerous equipment was known and removed.
This also meant that Rodney and Radek were going to working nights for about a week. Not that they minded it really, it was just a little annoying. But McKay would have it no other way. Why have some other bumbling scientist screw up things, and blow up themselves or worse Atlantis, when Rodney was just as able. And Radek was the only one that he would work with. They were a team that no one could beat. It was rumored that they shared the same brain even, though it would be hard to prove.
The both of them worked seamlessly into the night. By 2 o'clock that morning Rodney was fast asleep on his back under one of the last consoles that they were scheduled to finish for that day. Radek sighed and grimaced as he took one last swing of his cold coffee. He could finish this last part for the night then drag Rodney and himself off to bed.
It didn't take that long to do those final calibrations underneath the consol. And with a final push of a button he started it up. From inside the machine a panel started to spark, so he shut it down. Going into the machine he fixed up the final patch up by moving two of the crystals. Without warning, the machine started up again, and Radek was blinded by a bright light.
McKay woke up to see Zelenka enveloped in a flash of energy.
"Zelenka! Zelenka!"
A small figure was visible from inside the smoke. Rushing over, McKay scooped it up in his arms. He was surprised to see that he had picked up a small terrier about the same color as Radek's hair.
