Chapter 1: Oblivious

Well, another story, another pastime. This one seems to be made from more inspiration than the others, so we'll see how it turns out.

Disclaimer: I don't own SSB or SSB Melee. If I did, I wouldn't be writing this. I'd be out spending my money lavishly. Oh well, we can't all be rich.

Link jumped forwards and dived to dodge the magma spewing from the earth. A wave of arrows then flew from many holes in the opposite wall and Link brought his shield up to cover his crouching body. Then, he launched an ice arrow into the main hole coming from the heated ground and stopped the lava underneath from coming upward again. After jumping over a large gap in the stairs and defeating a few skeleton warriors, link leapt up and grabbed the Mayan idol from its stand at the end of the tunnel and pressed a button near its head. Fox suddenly came out of a door that opened up.

"Three minutes, six seconds" he said smirking. "Four seconds past my time"

"Your speed was the advantage" Link said trying to regain some of his pride" You didn't even fight the skeletons."

"That wasn't my primary objective, I was told to get the idol." Fox gloated.

"Smart ass fox" he muttered and walked up the stairs to his manor.

They were at Link's large "estate" in an underground cave. The estate was located in an overgrown grove at the edge of a giant forest. The building was that of a great stone temple-like place with many gardens and water fixtures outside. Link had invited over Fox, Kirby and Roy for a get-together since they never saw each other except for tournaments. Kirby and Roy were exploring the newest wing of the manor but mainly the new giant library. They had discovered about three secret passageways when Link and Fox walked in with sandwiches for them all.

"You're not too bad a cook for a human" Fox later said to Link with his mouth full "These are much better than any of Falco's dishes, that's for sure"

"I guess coming from you, that's a compliment" Link replied making Kirby and Roy chuckle.

Young Link then came in with a tray of drinks and glared at Roy and Kirby "You two totally ditched me this morning, did you forget that I live here too?"

"Um sorry, we got kind of sidetracked" Roy replied shifting uneasily in his chair while Kirby nodded saying "The new sing of the manor was just begging to be explored"

"Dad, when is the next tournament" The child asked turning to Link. "Its so boring around here." (Yes, in this story I made Young Link the child of Zelda and Link)

"I agree with the munchkin" Fox said after a swallowing a bite "nothing exciting or dangerous ever happens in this place with all of the smash bros here"

As the ice climbers mad their way up a desolate mountain, the female turned around to find an empty peak where she thought her partner had just been. Puzzled, she walked down the path, following his footsteps and stopped where they ended abruptly.

"What in the world?" she thought looking all around and hoping he hadn't fallen off. Then, a small noise came from behind her, the kind you can only hear if absolutely quiet. She turned around to find a figure standing behind her."You?" she spoke, her voice only a whimper due to the cold. "What did you do with him?" But, the newcomer said nothing and pulled from behind him two nets. One held a sleeping child that the girl had been searching for, and the other was empty. The figure opened the net and jumped upwards to pounce on the girl. She screamed loudly before being subdued but there was no on nearby to hear it.
