The Rules of the Game
"I don't see how you can play that game all the time."
"I don't see how you can't!"
A typical scene was unfolding in front of Harry. Hermione and Ron were bickering. Again… Harry thought. Harry knew that Ron liked Hermione. Well, Ron never actually told Harry, but Ron didn't know that he talked in his sleep. Harry also had a feeling that Hermione felt the same way.
"Do you even know how to play?"
Harry looked up thinking that Ron had stopped arguing with Hermione and was talking to him. Harry opened his mouth to answer, but shut it again when Hermione sputtered, "Well… Maybe I don't want to know how to play such a barbaric game!"
"Ha!" Ron shouted triumphantly. "I knew it! The all-knowing, bookworm Hermione doesn't know how to play the simple game of wizard's chess!"
"Well then, someone should teach her!" Somebody shouted at them. Harry turned around and saw that it was his girlfriend of two-month, Ginny Weasley, that had shouted. She is up-to something, Harry thought. And I think I know what it is…
"Seriously Ron. If you think that it is so strange for someone not to know how to play chess, why don't you teach her?" Ginny said, giving Harry a You-better-agree-with-me look.
Ron being the typical boy that he is, didn't even se the "look" that passed between his sister and best friend. "Alright. I will teach her." He turned to Hermione. "Mione, sit. Harry, shoo."
