For the sake of being organized, I'm going to have all of my SunClan challenges in this document as different chapters. What's written in bold at the top will be the summary. I really hope you enjoy reading them!
Tigerheart's Choice
Tigerheart's opinion on the warrior code and when it's necessary to break it. But sometimes, even if you want to break it, you can't.
"No, I'm sorry, but we can't meet anymore," Dovewing said, her words planned out and determined. But as I paused, unsure of how to answer, her certainty started to fade. She didn't want me to accept this; she wanted me to fight for her friendship. She longed for our friendship to continue forever but doubts were flowing through her mind as living in two rival Clans meant that we might face in battle one day.
"Why not?" Maybe this is something that I can fix.
"You know why. We belong to different Clans. And even if ShadowClan doesn't mean the world to you, ThunderClan is my true home."
"What do you mean? Of course ShadowClan means the world to me! I just love you more, I really do," I meowed.
She inched closer to me, "you've been training in the Dark Forest, haven't you? With Ivypool. Don't you know what you're doing to the Clans? It's treason."
"I'm doing this to preserve the Clans. If there isn't somebody like me to stop them, then the Clans will fall. Besides, why don't you hate Ivypool? She's more vicious than anyone else there."
After a moment to take it it, Dovewing said, "so it's okay to break the warrior code as long as you're doing it for the better of the Clans?" The comment about Ivypool seemed to trouble her a little bit, but she let the thought go. She trusted Ivypool, she would have told her if anything was going wrong.
"Yes, in my eyes."
"So we can meet together? What if love is what's right in this world and the only thing that stops us from that is the warrior code?" Dovewing would take any excuse or uncertainty to have us be back together. She's already made her choice, she's just waiting for me to make mine.
But what she doesn't understand is that this forbidden love should have never of happened. It's not fair to anyone. We always need to put our Clans first, which is why I was surveying what is happening in the Dark Forest. So that in the end I can save the Clans. I need to do my part. And Dovewing has a destiny to achieve, something that she owes to the Clan. And I can't be the one that distracts her.
"I'm sorry," I said firmly, bowing my head. "This is your destiny, but my wish. You know I love you, Dovewing. Which is why I'm saying goodbye to you now." Shock was the first emotion that lit up her face, but then it was quickly replaced with sadness. She turned quickly, whispered a goodbye, and returned the way that she had come. I didn't leave to return to my border until I could no longer hear her pawsteps.
"I will always love you," I said when I knew that she could no longer hear me.
The warrior code was made to be broken, if it wasn't then the Dark Forest would win over. But loyalty to your Clan will always be first and nothing can ever change that.
