The wind rushed under and over his shadowy wings, feeling like icy kisses on his cheek as Dark Mousy flew over the wide open sea, towards the cliff-side manor house of Riku and Risa Harada. The kaitou came here every night, just to watch his brown-eyed angel sleep. Sometimes she woke up, sometimes she didn't. The nights when she didn't were the best, really – there would be no quick escape, no rushed takeoff. On this night, his bare feet touched down lightly on the railing of the balcony, his balance excellent as he slipped down onto the cool, red tile that made up the balcony's floor. His footsteps were like ghosts as he crept up to the glass, violet eyes painful as he saw the one he loved sleeping so peacefully. He doubted she'd ever love him. And what would it matter if she did? There was no guarantee he would be there the next moment.
Riku Harada sensed something. A presence, near her. She felt it all the time, almost every night, and she was beginning to wonder if maybe it was her imagination. Either way, it creeped her out. As quiet as she could, she shifted over, looking to the window.
Dark was rooted to the spot, even as she turned over to face him. "No…." he whispered "I'm not running tonight"
Riku almost screamed. The Phantom Thief Dark Mousy aka Pervert, was watching her sleep. Usually, the girl would scream. But tonight she strode over to the sliding glass door and yanked it open, near hissing. "Get out pervert!"
"Well, it's an improvement. At least you aren't screaming anymore."
"Do you want me to?"
"Not really" He was smirking
"Then go away" Seeming to realize that he wouldn't 'win' this, he turned away, wings extended. Wiz had stayed with him – because, he would have to go home at some point, and would need his wings.
"I have your hairband, Miss Riku" With the smirk gone, he took out the hairband and set it down on the railing.
"S-so….it…it was real?" He nodded and climbed up onto the balcony, wings twitching.
"I'll
see you some other night, Riku-san"
"Wait"
"Hm?" He turned around. She was shocked by her own words – rather, word. Why didn't she want him to go?
"Is your hand healed up?" He nodded again.
"It wasn't that bad of a wound. Thank you, though…"
"It was nothing, really, just…didn't want ou to blame me if you got infected or something" Another nod, and a sort of smirk. And suddenly, the words just came out of her mouth, to her horror.
"Why don't you ever smile?" He turned around slowly, thinking for a minute.
"I never have a reason to smile" Riku looked down nervously, her hands hooking onto each other tightly.
"So….you're never…happy?"
"I'm content, but not happy"
"Not even when you were with Risa?"
"I didn't love Risa" She bit her lip and walked towards the balcony, climbing up on it shakily. What the hell am I doing? She asked herself, absolutely terrified. He, however, reached over and steadied her.
"I won't let you fall" The girl looked at him and nodded. One of her hands grasped his shoulder, and she just stared at him. After several moments of this confortable silence, she leaned over and met his lips with hers in a soft but gentle kiss. His hand ran along her cheek, and he kissed her in return, feeling like a whisper full of energy – soft, but with passion and fire. When he pulled back, Riku was satisfied.
He was smiling.
