House Of Mirrors
By XWiltedxxRosesX
No sing-song voice calling his name. No tiny human to tag along side him. The Demon Lord was in pain, alone, and lost. He wasn't sure what to do with himself. It had been a month and still his heart ached. He never looked at the sword that refused to bring the child back. Never touched it…ever. Jaken was even quiet, they seemed to have no more use of Ah-Un now.
"Jaken…" He said, speaking for the first time in days. Jaken jerked his head up, it was so nice to hear his master talk again. "There's a house up ahead, we'll stay there." He said directing them towards a house. It looked good enough to stay in for a night, and it seemed deserted.
"Yes, Lord Sesshomaru!" Jaken said, his mood improving slightly. They were at the door…Jaken pushed it open to reveal a tiny hallway with two doors. Hmm, interesting. Sesshomaru looked around once inside the shabby hallway.
"Take that door…if you find anything, or anyone…kill them." He said simply, hesitantly pushing the other door open and disappearing into total darkness. He walked around, his hand out stretched just incase he came upon anything. Two glowing eyes stared at him from up ahead. He walked up closer and bumped into something smooth and cool. He ran his fingers over the glass…taking a step back. It was a mirror. He was the only one there, that he could see.
"Lord Sesshomaru!" He turned to gaze into the mirror at his left. A little girl stood there, beaming up at him. She looked so real. He went to touch her but his fingers scrapped across the glass.
"Rin…?" He stared down at the ghost like figure of the girl.
"Look! I picked you a flower." She held out a flower, but he could still not grab it. It was just glass. He was imagining things. He nodded slightly instead.
"It's beautiful, Rin." He said quietly.
"Lord Sesshomaru, I heard of this house of mirrors, where it shows your hearts true desire. Wanna know what mine is?" She asked, shifting from side to side, and looking up at him.
"What, Rin?" He asked. House of Mirrors…was this the place? Was she his hearts desire? Did he want her back THAT badly? Yes…yes he did, he would not lie. She was everything to him.
"Well, I've always wanted to see you smile…and…to hug me, like I was your daughter…" She said looking up at him.
"I would've Rin…I wish I would've…I miss you…" He felt his eyes burn with tears and her smile faded.
"Don't cry…I'm alright. There's a really pretty garden here for me…I have to go!" She waved to him and turned, disappearing. Everything went dark again as he stood there. He'd have to come back, just to talk to her…spirit…ghost…soul…her. He stood there for a while, staring back at his own two mournful glowing eyes in the mirrors before returning to Jaken. He wouldn't tell him, he couldn't. It was his little secret. Now, He and Rin had a secret…together.
There is the sequel to Bloody Lullaby that you all requested...enjoy!
