Sikowitz started a tradition in Hollywood Arts. Girls started out as losers and had to work their way up. There were 100 levels to winner and each level came with more privileges. Activities you couldn't do at loser level you could do at the 1st step. What you couldn't do at step 1 you were able to do at step 2 and so on. Why guys didn't have the same challenges only Sikowitz's knew. Girls were less than happy about starting out as losers. Jade didn't mind. She liked challenges and she never allowed herself to miss out on anything. Jade did not like Tori Vega half the time. They seemed to have a love/hate relationship. Jade felt like Tori always outdid her. Thank GOD she never outdid her when it came to Beck. That was something Jade, who had long since numbed her feelings, would not tolerate. One time Jade felt like Tori was winning when it came to Beck but Beck fiercely assured her that if there were a competition for his love nobody else would even be in the running. He loved Jade and only Jade. Beck was the one safe thing in Jade's life.
Jade was having a bad day. She had a flat tire on the way to school. She was a half an hour late. Beck made a comment that pissed her off (although he was smart enough to tell her he was joking when he saw she was pissed off). That was bad enough but it got worse. It actually started out nice enough. Beck was sitting in the lounge when Jade walked in, wrapped her arms around him and gave him a HUGE kiss.
"Not that I'm complaining," he said with a smile, "but what's up with that kiss?"
"It was a rough day," she said, "and I just needed to be near you."
He sat her down in his lap and wrapped his arms around her. Just then Cat came bursting in.
"Hey did you guys hear the good news about Tori?"
Jade and Beck both looked at Jade with questions in their eyes.
"She's moving up to winner level"
"WHAT," Jade asked her eyes narrowing a little.
Beck groaned to himself bracing himself for his girlfriend's reaction.
Jade didn't react the way Beck thought she would though. After a brief moment of anger she just sighed.
"I wish I were a winner," she said
"Jade," Beck told her, "You already are and you don't need any damn pin to tell you that"
