In the lunch hall of Luna Nova a group of 3rd year girls looked down at pieces of paper. Some only glancing at it before throwing it towards the nearest trash bin while others were filling it out with excitement. Of course there were some girls in between who didn't know if they really wanted to take on the responsibility that this paper called for.

One of those girls was Jenny Mannern. A rather tall girl with short choppy brown hair and sparkling green eyes. She wore the usual Luna Nova outfit, Having a yellow sash signifying her team.

Jenny sat at a table, paper in hand with a forgotten tray of good to her right.

"So yah gonna do it Jen?" Another girl with a yellow sash, this one having a thick Irish accent and all the traits that marked her so even the fiery hair. The girls name was Blair Anderson.

"I think I'll pass, Being a G.W. doesn't sound all that fun to be honest," Jenny replied, her own accent being somewhat southern United States with a little bit of British mixed in. The girl looked at the paper a second or two longer before putting the paper back where she had gotten it from.

Blaire raised an eyebrow, but shrugged her shoulders before she began to fill it out.

"Hey kids!" Two older girls walked towards the table, both in their last year. One of the girls, the speaker of the two, noogied Jenny as she walked by. Making the younger teen groan in annoyance.

"Why must you do that Heather?" Jenny asked dramatically as she slapped the older witch's hand away.

"Because I can," The elder replied with a grin as she plopped down in the seat beside Jenny. The girls name being Heather Thatcher. "Also because this is my last year and I'll never get to do it again,"

"She lives with you," The girl to Heathers right (both her teammate and unfortunately her girlfriend) Fiona Fillenberg, deadpanned.

"But baaaabe, You don't understand-" The teen whined, leaning her head back to rest on her girlfriends lap as she continued, "It's different doing it at school,"

"And how is it different?" Fiona asked, absentmindedly letting her girlfriends light gold hair out of habit.

"Because at school she can actually embarrass me, At home she's just a nuisance," Jenny answered Fiona, stabbing a piece of meat on her plate before eating it.

"And as her guardian I must annoy her as much as possible," Heather added, bouncing upwards to start eating her own food before classes.

The rest of the conversation flowed rather easily, as the 3rd years discussed classes while the 4th years discussed the future. Both having their own fears for the years to come.

After a while Jenny's 3rd team mate Izumi and Heathers team mate Titch joined them and the conversation between the whole group started to dissolve into separate conversations between the two teams. With Izumi and Jenny working on their English and Chinese respectively.

Izumi was a quiet girl, part of that was the fact she didn't understand English perfectly and was scared to talk to others with her English. This led to her first year at Luna Nova being rather lonely as she refused to talk to even her teammates. Even with her translation spell.

It was only until Jenny cursed Blaire out in Chinese for leaving her things all over the floor that Izumi finally started to talk to someone...but only in Chinese. After a while though with much support from Jenny did she start talking to the others. But she still talked to Jenny sometimes in Chinese when wanting to feel the comfort of her native tongue.

And that's what they were doing now, conversing in Chinese. Until- "Hello Jenny, I just wanted to congratulate you on your outstanding spell casting in Fundamentals of Alchemy,"

Jenny's head snapped upwards at the new person who arrived, her brain taking a second to catch up with who was in front of her. "Umm yeah, I was okay," The teen's face turned bright pink as she realized the person in front of her was none other then Sophia Koren.

"Don't be modest Jen, You were awesome. Really a first class witch!" Blair added in slapping Jenny hard on the back in support.

"No, I'm okay there are plenty of other witches better than me," Jenny waved off the compliments, wishing they wouldn't say these things.

"Don't be so modest you're a great witch," Sophia gave a sweet smile making Jennys stomach fill with butterflies as her face continued to turn red.

Sophia continued to say something, but Jenny was much to distracted by her lips to really understand what she was saying. It wasn't until a hard kick from Heather and an elbow to the stomach from Blair that Sophia was awaiting an answer. "Umm- yeah, Totally,"

Whatever Jenny had agreed to made Sophia beam with a excited smile, "Great, I can't wait to work together," And with that Sophia was off, leaving Jenny and her friends alone in silence.

"I didn't think you would sign up to be a Guidance Witch for the younger students," Heather broke the silence, looking at Jenny for an answer. "I mean after all the stories I told you from my time this year I thought you would be smart enough to steer clear,"

What the hell did Jenny just do? "No I'm not," Jenny shook her head furiously as Blair chuckled to her right.

After laughing for a full minute the Irish girl finally controlled herself, still smirking as she told Jenny, "Well then you better go tell your girlfriend that because you just told her you would,"

"Wait…...WHAT?!?"

The yell was able to catch the attention of the whole entire lunch room, with all the occupants turning their heads to look at Jenny. "That is what you told her," Fiona added with her own little chuckle, sitting back and watching the circus before her unfold.

"Why didn't you guys tell me that's what she was asking about?" Jenny asked, her eyes growing comically large as she looked at the group.

"Because, you didn't ask," Izumi chimed in, a small smile tucked onto her own face as she watched her teammate freak out.

"Not you to Z," Jenny mumbled as she laid her head on her table, using her arms as a cushion and a curtain.

"Well you'll need this Guidance Witch Jenny," Blair, ever the comedic, then pushed over a form and a pen. The glare Jenny gave her made the Irish teen chuckle some more before adding, "Or you go tell Sophia that you aren't really gonna be a Guidance Witch and the only reason you said yes was because you were to distracted by her lips to really understand her question,"

Weighing her options Jenny looked from the pen towards the door. Finally sighing she took the pen and began filling out the information, muttering a small "I hate you all,"

"We love you too," Heather replied with a shit eating grin.

And that was how Jenny Mannern became a Guidance Witch.

'How hard can it really be?'
