Disclaimer: Obviously, I don't own Square-Enix. If I did, I wouldn't just be writing fanfics, I'd make everything...my reality! FWAHAHAH!
That day, at Djose Temple, she'd pretty much told him to back off. Actually, she was pretty blunt about it. She was still...attatched to Tidus, obviously, considering he was my primary motivation throughout the whole trip. All she wanted was for him to hold her one more time, tell her that it was all going to be okay. Something...that she realized wasn't going to happen. Vegnagun was defeated, but she was still alone. And she found herself wanting things that she shouldn't want, thinking of people she shouldn't be thinking of. She couldn't control her mind, no matter how much she wanted to, how frantically she tried. Her body wanted one thing...one thing she knew was forbidden to her.
She was sure Rikku liked him, considering she'd ramble on about him for hours and hours. That alone made him off limits to her, no matter how many late nights she spent awake, thinking of the blonde hair, the masculine beauty that could belong to no one else. The lighthearted, laid-back air about him that made her defenses start to crumble. The way he scolded anyone who "depended on her too much", the way he didn't treat her like a goddess, merely a human. The way his eyes would sparkle as he teased her about something silly, more than likely her being tolerant of others walking all over her no matter how hard she tried to fight them, and told herself she did. The way he stood, with a mocking, yet friendly smirk that highlighted his features. Everything about him pulled her closer to breaking, to admitting she wanted to see more of him...much more. Something she never wanted to admit.
It didn't explain why she was sneaking off that night, why she showed up on the doorstep of Djose Temple, looking for him. Nor did it explain why she knocked on the door to his sleeping quarters until he finally opened it, aggrivated and looking like he was going to punch something. And, it didn't explain why he took one good look at her and nearly stopped breathing the second he saw her, sick of suppressing his own thoughts. It didn't explain the way he pulled her into his arms and held her silently for a few moments, afraid she'd change her mind and escape, like she always seemed to do. His voice was quiet, his hold gentle. "Are you...staying this time?"
Yuna sighed quietly and pressed her forefinger to his soft lips. "Hush, Gippal. I'll cross that hurdle when I come to it."
"...When you come to it? Yuna, we're already there..." he murmured, burying his face in her hair and enjoying her scent.
"Fine, fine. Well...I suppose...if you want me to stay here...and you keep holding on...I don't think I'm going anywhere."
"I keep telling myself, I keep telling myself, I'm not the desperate type." - Fall Out Boy
